Sorry, I'm new to D&D beyond, however, I think this fits into the idea of Inventory Management. So, say I added a bag of holding or similar item, is there a way to 'add' items into it to reduce weight?
Example: Say I have an Efficient Quiver and 60 arrows in my inventory. The 60 arrows would weigh 3 pounds, however, according to the description of the Efficient Quiver, I can place the arrows into the quiver, and at max the quiver would weigh 2 pounds. Is there an option in Equipment or my character sheet that allows me to reduce my weight by adding the arrows to the quiver?
You cannot “add them to the quiver,” but you can eliminate the weight. Click the item on the character sheet, click “customize” and then set the weight override to “0.” You can then put “Efficient Quiver” in the notes field. If you change the name to “Efficient Quiver- Arrows” they will even group together in the inventory with everything else you name “Efficient Quiver- X.” Kindof like THIS, I just do it with emojis instead of words.
This, plus the grouping idea are pure gold and I greatly appreciate this post. Thank you so much!
I'm currently doing a 1 on 1 campaign and inventory management is kinda fun when it's just you and your retainers (knight background). I've even added a carrying capacity in notes for my retainers and then added notes on the items on who has what. With everything set to 0 now that my Lady isn't carrying I can get an accurate idea of what she really has!
Again, thanks so much for this post!
I just saw this or I would have replied sooner. I’m very glad to have been of assistance.
The ideas in here are pretty good but my god the amount of time you must spend figuring that all out.... when do you play?
It really didn’t take all that long. Since I do it from my phone, the emojis are already right there.
And obviously you have never had to struggle with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). It’s a meme to most people, but it really sucks if you actually have it. I quite literally could barely concentrate to play while it was all out of wack. And with a splash of ADHD, I could adjust that and follow the DM’s narration at the same time. People often *think I’m not paying attention because I’m fiddling with something else too, but honestly that often makes it easier for me to concentrate.
*They only think that until I recall the events they thought I missed more accurately than they did, even the DM sometimes.
Also doesn't appear that custom items are able to be transferred or added to containers at this time.
Yet ;)
Progress is looking good, and the separation of containers is much better than I thought it would be honestly. Hopefully the finishing touches are implemented sooner rather than later.
I hope we'll be able to change what is and isn't a container. Our flying carpet isn't a container. Ever. It is, however, inside our bag of holding, but I can't list it as being anywhere since it's apparently always floating around on its own with a bunch of stuff on it.
I also want to note that containers and their lack of custom items make another case for a feature that is oddly absent from the site in general: equipment. The ability to create items that aren't magical. Because the Statuette of the Crocodile Goddess might actually be interesting without any magic at all. And when they get another bottle of the local alcoholic specialty, players shouldn't have to manually edit an existing object every time.

So just want too sat it... Dont know if people have notice... so ad items to the bag of holdning.... And it still adds the whole weigh to ur character
Weight reduction for things like carts (which you don't carry) and bags of holding (which are magical) isn't implemented yet.

Would also be great to be able to change the order of the containers or at least choose to have on-hand items listed first.
