The only thing so far i don't like is it's still srd stuff so even if i wanted a beast master ranger i cant make the class on here and that makes me sad
Public Mod Note
(Sedge):
Moved to Beta Testing & Feedback
I'm really looking forward to this opening up past the SRD content as well. I'm currently playing a Lightfoot Wild Magic Sorcerer and can't properly digitize him. I'm stuck using paper until D&D Beyond comes out of beta.
This first pass at a character creator feels very cumbersome. I don't like that almost everything is super compartmentalized and I don't get to see the finished product until the very end (and even then it is hard to parse). I get that there is supposed to be a "mobile first" mentality here, but until I can see how this breaks down on a mobile device, it just feels all kinds of lack-luster right now.
I mentioned this in another thread already, but I was really hoping that this builder would be more intuitive and easier to use than OrcPub, which at least lets you see what's going on as you build your character. Here's hoping after a few development iterations, Beyond will be a bit better of an experience.

I agree. Especially when making a character above level 4, you have to go to the end and then back to the start to add the ASI - which comes up before you've rolled stats!
List of Feats is limited to Grappler and Scirfneblin Magic - what no Polearm Master for my Variant Human?
Making a Bard or Rogue where you get Expertise is also backwards as your Background skills may be the ones to be Expert in but you don't get there til the end.
I'd rather it went Race/Background/Class as this feels more natural - you are born as an X, raised as a Y, and developed/gained/manifested your skills as a Z.
Leave age/eyes/etc to the very end. Also maybe (if the above is followed) revisit Background again later to choose your traits etc, using the initial choice to provide your baseline skills, tools and languages?
A 'sheet check' button would be good so that if you miss or overlook something there is a quick way of clicking on it when you're ready.
Been using fight club 5 , really like the way it integrates all the compendium with the character building . i had a little hard time going back and forth to get the character done with this one. i know its still beta but a suggestion may be to add that feature where i can see what the spell does before i pick it.
also will their be a die roll straight off the character sheet?
You should be able to click on (or randomize if you like) the traits, flaws, etc. from the background and have them populate those fields automatically.
