Hi everyone! First off, apologies if I'm in the wrong area of the forum. I don't post much and this idea just occurred to me so I wanted to get it out there. Second, sorry if someone else recommended this. I tried searching but didn't find anything. Alright! Now onto the post.
I use D&D Beyond a lot for DM-ing and I like to view my PCs in my campaigns beforehand so that I can try my best to create encounters that are fair and not too easy they'll simply steamroll over. As I was looking a my campaign page it occurred to me, why not have all the important details of PCs display in the page for the DM to use?
Hear me out. This is important information per PC such as: HP, Temp HP, AC, Spell Slots, Abilities, and Conditions.
I think this would help me out as a DM and since the PCs are updating their characters through the App, we just need some way of pulling that information onto a section/area in the Campaign view for the DM. Also having/adding a little refresh button to take in new information edited/added by the PCs.
I saw a sneak peak of the combat tracker in dev update. It looked like a great first step toward a fully functional DM screen or even akin to a mapless VTT.
The one feature I'm concerned about is if it can be paused/saved to a campaign between sessions as opposed to being a live session that times out/ends when you close it.
