Since this post is 5 years old, I think it's clear at this point that this is a feature, not a bug. I assume the reasoning is that someone in charge thinks you will see a cool thing then buy the content in order to access it. Basically, they are intentionally making your experience worse in hopes that you will pay to improve it.
i really like to use dnd beyond but actually usable search function and filters for owned content would be greatly appreciated since it diminishes the experience a lot if you have to search for 5 minutes instead with one click...
Go back a couple pages. Someone found a viable workaround. I am stupid with computers and figured it out. It's a bit annoying, but once you get it set up, it works great.
It makes you wish there was a function to return all books. I used to have such high expectations of dndbeyond, but there's a lot going on here that doesn't really make you feel comfortable as a customer. Compare that to Steam (steampowered.com), where the client runs without a hitch on an old Macbook with 10.14 and everything works. The library only shows my games, I can switch between operating systems with a single click, etc., even though MacOS hasn't been supported for several years. So it is possible to make digital content accessible in a way that keeps customers loyal. PS: Steam is an example of purchased content that doesn't really belong to you.

The worst part of this plan is that the more content they add, the worse it gets.
wow! this workaround is actually amazing! (and also sad that it has to be done like this...) thank you very much
