I am also checking for an update, as my annual subscription just renewed and Fandom aren't answering questions about this long overdue and pandemic crippling broken feature. Even Tasha coming out hasn't had an effect on sidekicks not working properly.

Just want to clarify a few things about sidekicks:
Prior to Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, sidekicks were only officially presented in Dragon of Icespire Peak and its three follow up adventures. D&D Beyond has fully supported those sidekicks since release.
With regards to Tasha's Cauldron of Everything sidekicks, while those are not supported via a dedicated sidekick builder, you can make sidekicks by using the homebrew tools. You can copy a qualifying monster and then apply the appropriate sidekick changes from within the homebrew tools.
With regards to answering question, this question was actually asked on last weeks dev update. Here is a link to the dev update video on youtube timestamped at where they answer the question.
It was discussed briefly during the Q&A in this week’s Dev Update. They are working on it, although my sense is that meant “working on thinking through how such a system might work,” not working on it as in doing actual code for it.
Wild how its been 4 years and it still isn't supported.
Gotta love WoTC. Rather than trying to be the best VTT they tried killing all other VTTs with the OGL bullcrap and now won't support their own products.
i cannot add any sidekicks to my character sheet, all i have are different monsters and creatures
I answered this in a different thread where you posted this (you shouldn't make duplicate posts, and this one here ^ is in the wrong place, but whatevs).
Ensure you have Tasha's Cauldron of Everything book purchased/shared.
If shared, ensure character is being made in the campaign that has sharing enabled.
Ensure the Expanded Rules toggle is enabled for the character.
Select sidekick under the Extras tab on sheet.
