I'm sure this was not an intentional attempt of exclusion and rather a default forum management software piece. Non-the-less raising awareness of it is helpful. Ill bump to give this more visibility.
Oh I agree, I know WotC are very good about inclusion, and the chances that this was done actively is low. It would be a very nice change, however. Thank you.

If you love a character, you give them pain, ruin their lives, make them suffer. Maybe even throw in a heroic death.
I wanted to let you all know I did a deploy to remove the gender field. Thank you so much for the feedback and the help you all are providing with testing out the site!

Disappointing to learn that this madness has managed to infect DnD, too. I guess I'll be the single voice of reason and dissent from the rest. I didn't have a problem with you guys excluding the imaginary 35 additional genders from the list. Please readd the gender field with the only two actual genders.

Or how about no gender options, as it is now, and just stop worrying about it? By adding the options with the restrictions creates more political discourse than if there was no option for genders. And, honestly, feels like you just posted this comment to create more discourse.
If you don't agree with it, then move on. People identifying how they perceive themselves doesn't hurt anyone, but hurtful words do.
Now, let us please move forward. This issue has been resolved in the perfect manner, and getting into a heated, toxic political debate over gender is pointless.
Thank you, mod, for being attentive to people's feedback. We love you <3

I'm going to lock this, as we def don't want this to be a political debate forum. D&D is often a way to escape all that! (and its getting a little off topic now)
Regardless of how you feel on the subject, the honest truth is , that field no longer has any tech reason to be on profiles (was there from long ago). So it's a good win to make everyone Happy without losing any functionality !
Hey, this site is looking like it's coming along great and I'm excited to see how it looks down the road!
Only suggestion I have right now might be to add an "Other" or "Non-binary" selection to the "Gender" section of the account settings:
I know a lot of non-binary folks such as myself who LOVE the game, but don't love being limited to being male or female.
Hey Curse, I'm really not even sure why this field exists? Get rid of it, or add a third non-binary option, please.

Yeah, agender nonbinary trans woman here, would really love to see an "Other" option at the very least.
Totally agree. Either dismiss it or at least give other options :)
I saw that and it seemed to be a little odd. No profile description options, almost no social media links, but a gender toggle?
It could be for research (saying X% male, Y% female, and Z% non answering) for market purposes, but they should add some options.

I too agree. As a non-binary person having to click one of these two just feels awful. Third option, or remove.

As a cis male I support what the OP is asking for. Binary gender is a dated construct from a bygone era.

While I don't think being obnoxious will do anything about it, I'm all about being cis. There really should be only two options, male or female.
Thanks so much to the devs for following up on this so quickly! On a related note: the "Ignore User" function seems to be working great!
I hesitate to say so for fear of some backlash (like, will I be banned?), but I want Visi to know he or she's not alone. I agree with you, Visi.
I wish this could be a politics-free zone, to be honest.
Dang you're right Pjack the Ignore User function is fully operational!
