I have noticed that allot of the homebrew spells are either identical to existing spells or lower level version of another spell with almost identical effects. Its a shame that 5th changed grounded basic spells so much as it has seriously made the game harder for keen MU'sers. Who is approving the spells as they don't seem to be vary knowledgeable about existing ones.
If there is any homebrew you spot which doesn't seem right, just shoot us a PM so we can take a look. Later on we are hoping to have a report function built into the homebrew lists to make reporting homebrew easier (as well as adding comments between users and the creator).
Where in the rules and guides does it say about not turning a 3rd level spell into a 2nd level with a different name. No DM's are going to allow the spells so why let the homebrew be filled up with them. I would like to see creators controlled on what they are creating otherwise the site will be full of rubbish and the good stuff will be buried beneath it. I will point out that many of the spells created have very little info regarding saves, resistance or immunity to certain species or classes.
About this there is very little we can do about. The moderators can check if a submission violates the rules. If a user wants to submit a bad-written and unbalanced homebrew creation, it is his/her right to do so.
The staff is taking in great consideration to implement improvements on this regard.
But, again, we ask your contribution about this. If you detect a violation, please report via PM.
What's the point of pointing out a major flaw if you fob me off with its their right. If a player wants to adapt an existing spell in a game good for them, I do it all the time. If they fill up the homebrew with reskinned spells that's not being creative for the majority, just messing it up for every one else.

Please, if the community find some violations in the homebrew content, report it to any moderator via PM. Your help is always appreciated.

I could point out several spells that are mere reskinnings of other spells, but I won't, for two reasons.
First, they're useful to me.
Second, if I can see that a spell is nearly identical to an official spell, I know that it's reasonably balanced.
