I feel like IF I have paid for the players handbook, I SHOULD get everything offered in the players handbook¹. I am building my character according to the handbook and already paid for it. I should not have to ignore putting in spells and writing them in after because people are greedy. There is so many free apps on the smart phone market that I can use that offer me what you fail to do². I want to support this site, put adds on the edges if you need to make money, DO NOT expect me to pay for simple content that I can find elsewhere for free and on my tablet easy to use³. If Wizards of the Coast can not see the advantage of offering everything found in the players handbook free then they are making a huge mistake in ignoring this advantage⁴.
(Annotations mine.)
¹: If you bought the Player's Handbook on D&D Beyond, you do get everything offered in the Player's Handbook in D&D Beyond: integrated character options including races, classes, feats, and spells in an online character builder, as well as a searchable and hyperlinked compendium of rules. If you bought the Player's Handbook in paper, you do get everything offered in the Player's Handbook in paper: 316 pages of illustrated, hardbound, tabletop RPG rules.
²: If there are free options for what you are asking for, I have to wonder why you are so intent on using this product instead. Could it be that D&D Beyond has a much higher level of quality? Could it be that these free options are violating Wizards of the Coast's copyrights, and you don't want to be complicit with that sort of activity?
³: See #2.
⁴: D&D Beyond is not produced by Wizards of the Coast. D&D Beyond is produced by Curse (which is a subsidiary of Twitch, which is a subsidiary of Amazon). Wizards of the Coast has licensed the use of their content to Curse for this product. I will concede that Wizards of the Cost likely has some say in the pricing model, but this forum is not the best way to communicate with WotC, if that is your intention.

This subject has been discussed multiple times. The answers have been given multiple times. D&D Beyond is not made by Wizards of the Coast, it is made by Curse. Physical books or any codes that are suggested would never give Curse payment in any form, so how would the developers hope to get paid for their work on this site? Instead of making new threads on the subject, please search and find those threads that are already there. Thread locked and merged.
I've bough these physical products since 5E was released:
Player's Handbook
Monster Manual
Dungeon Master Guide
Can I register them to be used in D&D Beyond?

My hubby and I already own 5ED players, monsters man and DM guide- Is there any way or any plans to incorporate proof ownership of physical items to open/ activate access the additional online resources?
It's not exactly fair to expect people to repurchase. Especially as our player's hand book is from the print run that fell apart really quickly and as such I hate having to carry it for my weekly session. In fact, all 3 of our books are from that initial badly bound print run.
I had heard WOTC was offering to replace these free at some point too.
I'd like functional digital and physical copies for the money we have already invested.

I swear I didn't mean to kill an entire village... kinda....
DDB is not part of WotC, they are separate companies. The DDB books are for use on the site and in their tools. It's similar to buying a book from a bookstore and buying an audiobook from an unaffiliated website.

I see that this has been mentioned before, but I am severely disappointed in the fact that the Drow subrace has not been included. I own two Player's Handbooks, the DM Guide, and the Monster Manual, plus the Sword Coast Guide, and a few of the pre-set campaigns. I have no problem with giving WOTC my money for content, but considering I already have a physical copy of legally paid for content, I find it extremely frustrating that I would have to make additional purchases in order to have access to this information on this platform. I can see the merits of having this digital platform and was indeed quite excited about it. I also have no problem with purchasing additional content digitally - if I don't own it. If I already own the content, I think it is unfair to require me to purchase yet another, digital, Player's Handbook to access race information that I have as a physical copy. Seems greedy and punitive.

I moved your post to this thread since it is more appropriate for the topic. Here you can find the answers.
As a side note, before addressing something as greedy and punitive, it is important to understand that the staff have worked (and are working) hard to get this platform done.

This is not possible - DDB is not owned by WotC (and many other reasons expounded upon in these forums).

I want to buy the book, and also want to use D&D Beyond, but doing both seems silly.
I would love to see D&D beyond selling hard copies at a slightly inflated price, and including a key for the digital content.
