During character creation you can choose to take their starting equipment for your class/background or take a lump sum of gold and use it to purchase starting equipment. However when adding equipment to your inventory there is no way to tell how much the item would cost. Ideally I would love to see a purchase button added in addition to the add button that exists. The purchase button would automatically subtract the cost from your gold amount. At a bare minimum just listing the cost would go a long way.
Created D&D Beyond accounts for my kids today, and purchased the PH and Sword Coast books for them through DDB. Love it.
However, when they went to spend some of their money, there was no way to buy equipment.
What am I missing?
Are folks suppose to add the new item for free (via Add Item button) then look up the price in the Compendium, and go back and subtract that amount from their Currency tab?

Really?
Tell me I'm missing something.
Thanks, Brad
No you're not missing anything.
A change to this is planned, as has been stated already in this thread.

How many more years should we expect to wait before this is implemented?
At least 3.5
Are we still waiting?
Of course. it's not due for it until the end of 2026, according to @EmbriesMal 🤣
