There doesn't seem to be any sorting going on when I view my encounters. Alphabetically in ascending order by name would be a good place to start. Right now it seems random.
There is currently no sorting implemented for the /my-encounters page (it's actually sorting alphabetically by ID, which is a GUID, hence why it feels random). We're definitely going to, at a minimum, add column sorting like how sorting works for the monster listing on the builder page.
We're also exploring other options for providing better user control over how your encounters are displayed/organized, since this will be such a personal page. No specific plans on this yet, but there have been lots of great suggestions (like folders) on the forum and elsewhere on this topic that we're keeping in mind while designing it.
GUID? I don’t mean to be critical, but I write freelance software for a living. If I sorted stuff by GUID my clients would cease utilizing my services. Come on guys, at least sort by encounter title by default. Then we could control sorting ourselves by using 001, 002, 003, etc. prefixes on the titles.
Please keep in mind that the encounter builder is still in early alpha, so there's many features we simply have not gotten a chance to implement yet, encounter sorting being one of them. ID sort just happens to be the default behavior for our data store, not something we explicitly coded. I assure you, proper encounter sorting is high on our priority list. I want to sort and organize my encounters just as much as you! :D
How about by adventure, or by campaign, or better yet, by adventure and campaign? You could set up a tagging system where when you create an encounter you add a tag to it that tags it to a specific adventure (which is basically a fancy way of saying folder, but could later be expanded to allow you to store maps, room descriptions, and even NPC descriptions if you ever, and you should, come out with an NPC generator tool).

I agree; it could be set up if you click name it sets it alphabetically or if you click CR it could sort lowest to highest by the parameters you set.
On top of column sorting, I would really like to see folders or something similar for further organization.

Eagerly awaiting this part of the feature
you can currently sort by name, date created and difficulty.
