I used a program with an initiative feature for Shadowrun called HeroLab. You could type in Initiative numbers and it would then auto-sort, but they also had Up and Down arrow buttons which would shift the initiative position. So that way, if two people tie, you can still manually adjust the order.

I am not saying it is impossible, it is just designing the interface to make sense. For example, If you have 5 people in the initiative, I could easily just add the two people next to each other and let you drag to re-sort the order. That is really simple.
My conflict is let's say you add someone in with the number 18 and another person with the number 16. But you move the person with a 16 above the person with an 18... My math for inserting anyone after that move will be all screwed up.
Basically, the hard part is I have to make a script that will change the initiative order associated with the players to be a mix of what they rolled and a calculation for once you manually move someone. It's something I will be looking into this weekend. I'll be able to give more information then.
Would it be possible to re-number the players after a manual or auto-sort? leaving the input rolled numbers out of the equation entirely.
edit:
after looking at it again I notice you are already doing this exact thing with the numbers. Now all you would need is a button for the rolled value sorting and only use that button for the initiative sorting. Then you could even use this feature is someone holds initiative, then resort after the turn.
Feature:
It would be cool if you could add a button to keep track of who’s turn in the initiative order and maybe a way to track the number of rounds

The problem is a very small issue that may never actually occur and that is something changing the initiative order, once you have started playing. For example, if you wanted to add an NPC mid-fight after a manual change to the order he wouldn't be able to be placed correctly. Basically, I am trying to figure out how to code for something that would not most likely happen in most combats. lol

Love that idea, it will actually go well with the other secret feature I am working on.
Ummm...is it me, or does the Install button on page 1 of this thread just take you to the Github, exactly as the "Github" button does?
I uninstalled the extension while testing something else, and now I can't get it back. ;)
I don't know what you are talking about, it is working for me. Here is the link though:
Thank you for pointing that out by the way, as the creator, I never really use the live version, always the half broken version I am testing with so I never caught that the link wasn't pointing to the right location.
Is there a limit to the number of encounters you can prepare? Admittedly I had a load, but they've all inexplicably disappeared. Tried reopening the extension and restarting Chrome, but nothing. (Fortunately I have them in Game Master still, so I don't need to start again.) The extension is looking really good and I was looking forward to using it, except for that little mishap!
I am not going to lie. I am SO sorry for breaking your encounters... I made major changes to them and I am guessing that is what broke it.
I am so sorry for making you have to remove and re-install my plugin, but I am guessing somewhere in the rewrite to go to open source I seriously screwed something up.
Please forgive me, I promise to do my best to avoid this for future releases.
It was while I was building the encounters. I had previously closed and relaunched Chrome to make sure the encounters were saved and that was fine. But while I was on a monster stat block adding it to the campaign and everything just disappeared. I'm not even sure when, but when I turned to scroll down the encounter list it was empty.
No need to apologise, appreciate all the work you're putting into this for free! Thank you so much.
Would you be able to let me know if you are able to duplicate the result? If so, then there is something I need to look into, otherwise, I think it was the updating issue I created.
Just pushed an update to live. This update fixes some issues with the encounter builder and expands it to allow you to build encounter from tooltip links for monsters. This was added to make it easier to build encounters from random encounter tables. Just click the sword and shield logo right after the monsters name. Let me know if you experience any issues with this feature, it is very lightly tested.
This update also includes a "Creator Highlighter" feature, it is a small feature meant to honor the people who are trying to provide plugins to help the community. Basically, all it does is highlight our names in pink, it will also highlight our posts in pink. It is a minor change. I do plan on making it an optional change in a future update.
Lastly, this update fixes an issue with the health of monsters in the initiative order. basically, if you have a monster temp health and then used the mouse wheel to lower the health it would decrease the health to the monsters max health, this wasn't the expected outcome but it does appear to be patched as of now.
As always if you have issues or requests, please let me know.
As for what I am working on next, I am working on adding a dice roller back into the toolbox, the ability to track rounds in the initiative order and some other secret features. Enjoy your Adventures.
As for the previous topic discussed, I haven’t been able to duplicate the issues with the encounters disappearing from the list. I will keep you updated.
I can look into it this weekend. It honestly depends on how complicated it is.

lol. Thanks, Mouse. :)

So I made an update that completely messed up encounters recently
Is this something you just happened or did you make all of your encounters and when you loaded it up today they were are lost?

Sure, but could be a day or two.
I had this same problem as well, but I haven’t been able to replicate it as of yet. I’m going to try some more today.

I will also look into adding notifications if the saving errors out. That might help people know if something went wrong.
Started working on a way to add encounters from monster links.

Sweet. I look forward to testing.
