So me and my party have 2 games running, one of them is a more serious campaign I DM, ( by choice, yes, im weird, leave me alone ). And the second one is a string of one shots where it’s just an occasion to do random crap, so the DMs are more relaxed and the DC on charming dragons is lower.
But we are starting new characters for the one shots, and we are allowed to choose ANY race and ANY class. My first thought, of course, was : How can I annoy the living crap out of everyone around me? Since it doesn’t matter TOO much. Context :
We don’t tell each other what are characters will be, so no coordination at all, we can end up with 4 wizards or 4 rangers
We are at lvl 8, ( or by the time my part as DM is done, 11 ). I don’t know how the DMs will handle it, put it’s their problem from this point on, especially since we go all the way up to 20. There is generally little combat, it’s more about the fun of playing the characters and prancing around, so that means no min/maxed lvl 9 rogue, lvl 5 fighter, lvl 3 Paladin, lvl 21 wizard, lvl 82 Warlock monstrosities.
My first idea was a centaur draconic sorcerer, since I get wings pretty fast, I thought that might be an interesting combo. But to cut this short, does anyone have fun ideas for a build? It can be a funky backstory too, or just a cool character
1: Swashbuckler Rogue/Champion Fighter - Tabaxi - dual wielding rapiers and a mad fetish for fine leather boots. Think Puss-in-boots blended with Inigo Montoya, but with a lot more sneak attacks AND critical hits! High Dex and high Cha for buff to Initiative rolls.
2: level 1 Rogue (starting class)/Level 1 or 2 knowledge Cleric/College of Lore Bard. LOTS of skills with expertise, and instead of playing music in the taverns, you could be a stand up philosopher (comic). If you don't get the reference, go watch Mel Brooks History of the World, Part 1 - specifically the Roman Era. Bea Arther was great! I won't quote her here... This character is a seeker of knowledge. All knowledge. If they could cram books and scrolls directly into their brain, they would!
I've threatened to play both of these in the past, but haven't yet pulled the trigger on either of them.

Hmmm. How about a Gold-Skinned Loxodon Glamour Bard (or Divine Soul Sorcerer), and pretend to be a Humanoid Hollyphant?
Or a Lizardfolk Fiend Warlock that is pretending to be a Lizard-God after making a pact with some demon?
Just a couple suggestions that I think would be fun for one-shots.
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:

Best of luck on whatever you decide to play!
Centaur fey lock/fey bard, uses the disguise self invocation to prance around as the most beautiful pony in the world
Wow, thanks! Those both sound great
