So I'm a D&D noob, but made a dhampir and was curious RP wise how some things would work being a 'half-vampire'
Is sunlight just irritating? Like would I just prefer to wear a hood/mask all the time and stick to shady areas or is it an actual thing like roll disadvantage when in sunlight?
Could I still eat normal food/drink to blend in or would it make me sick?
Just things like that I was thinking of and I suppose when it comes down to it, it can just be me and a DM's choice, but was curious if anyone else was thinking of the same stuff? Thanks!
Not only can you eat normal food and drink, you must - your craving for blood is like a drug addiction, it doesn't actually sustain you. If you want inspiration for roleplaying Dhampirism as a flaw, I recommend leaning harder into that addiction and your struggles with it.
cool thanks, that helps a lot, i've been trying to look up information but i feel like most of what i find is home-made stuff (which is totally cool) but just wanted slightly more official rulings :)
You could use it has a motivation for being an adventurer in the first place. Perhaps feeling the need to suck humanoid blood isn't very easy to satisfy for someone living in a city, so signing up for a job that involves killing people on a regular basis could be seen as the only way to meet your urges and still be an accepted part of society.

hahaha maybe in a comedic campaign! do parodies of bad movies as characters.
