Hi all. I'd love to buy a bunch of source books, but I'm broke. Is there a way for me to specifically purchase the classes spells, or do I have to read from the list and purchase them individually from each source book?
You can’t purchase spells by class, but you can purchase all the spells out of a given book as a bundle. Use the spells page to filter to the given class you want, then filter to a specific book (unfortunately there’s no ‘exclude’ option) and see if there are enough artificer spells to make buying the spell bundle worth your money.
Thank you. I'm having trouble though--for example, I am a level 3 artificer and i would like to use fly in my campaign. I cannot for the life of me tell what book that is from.
So I am a level 3 Artificer, and fly isn't showing up for me as an option in spell management, just cantrips and level one spells. I tihnk I may be critically misunderstanding a mechanic in the way spells are cast, lol. Do I need a higher intelligence to be able to cast these spells?

Spell levels and character levels are very different things. Fly is a 3rd level spell, and Artificers only get 3rd level spell slots by level 9. You could speed that up a bit by multiclassing into a full caster class like Wizard, but even a full caster class only gains spell slot levels every other class level so you'd need 5 Wizard levels to cast a 3rd level spell. It's not a bad combo at all, but Artificer 9 vs Artificer 3/Wizard 5 only means one extra level.
edit: to be clear, there are no casting ability requirements for spells in 5E, unlike previous editions. You just need a spell slot of an appropriate level. Your casting ability may still affect how potent a spell is, particularly if it allows for a save (your casting ability modifier factors into the save DC).

Fly is in the Basic Rules (so it's a freebee).
If you open the page for a spell in DDB, it shows the source in the bottom right corner.
