So Animated Armor is the place to start. I've developed it a bit in line with the picture to make them more interesting. Notably the differences are:
The armor in the picture hovers
The armor wields a massive maul, which has a fiery glow
I've bolstered this monster's CR to 2 instead of 1, given it a 10 foot reach for the huge weapon, given it a hovering flight speed and boosted its hp and attack bonus.
I was wondering how you guys would go about making a living armor like Copper, Iron, and Nickel from the Summoners War games?
I don’t know that game, but maybe start with the various golems. And animated armor, of course.

The animated armor is probably what you are looking for. :)
Helmed Horror is a more robust form of animated armor. That and Animated Armor probably gives you enough to think over.
