Well I have been on a Warhammer 40k character kick. I am working on a Necron character. I am thinking warforge clockwork soul sorcerer sage, because of the idea of a them being a race of peer logic. But would artificer battle smith be more accurate? And what would be the most off the wall idea?
P.S. the characterization is based on Trazen the Infinite
P.S.S. look him up magpies would take lessons from him.
Honestly, I'd actually put the Necrons as Reborn (due to their reassembly feature on the tabletop being represented as the Death Save feature on Reborn). Otherwize, Trazen would definitely be a Clockwork Soul. and he'd probably abuse a build similar to the Steel Sorcerer here... albeit with the feat progression adjusted in order to account for the whole "not starting with Light Armor since you're a Reborn" problem

From what I've read, all be it from a wiki article, Trayzn sounds more like a Wizard, going around trying to recover, collect and catalogue powerful artfacts and individuals. He seems to abhore melee so would need a variety of ranged attacks and methods of distancing himself from melee (so any ranged spell but eventually using CIrcle of Death as one of his staff powers apparently has the abilitty to affect a wide area and Misty Step, Blink and the various teleportation spells), he has a range of domination and stasis powers (which could be Charm/Dominate/Hold spells upto Maze and Imprisonment) and the ability to take over bodies and turn them into his normal form (which could be the Clone or Magic Jar spells).
So based on that I'd probably look toward a Warforged Order of the Scribes Wizard with a Sage background.

thanks for suggesting scribe wizard combining it with warforge makes him basically a one robot scroll factory. If I also take 3 levels in rogue thief for the quick hands feature it basically means two spells per round

Scrolls are regarded as a magic item, so unfortunately they aren't compatible with fast hands from the rogue.
