I have one of my pcs get infected with lycanthropy by a were-chicken. I must have an issue because I regularly torture my players with various annoying chickens.

Weredolphin to counter wereshark Wereeagle to counter wereraven Wereelephant just because that would be cool Weresloth - the most terrifying thing that may get around to killing you sometime this year you can imagine Wereporcupine Werepanda Werekoala
Just had the profound realisation that a wereprechaun would be terrifying. 8-foot tall goliath sees the moon, turns into a tiny red-haired man in a green jacket & hat who goes on a chaotic rampage around the area!
I had the best idea ever (That lots or people have probably had). How about a wereowlbear a human that turns into a owl ear every full moon.
I actually want to see something turn into an owl ear. It's still alive and it hears everything but cannot fly or move. It just swivels around hearing things in the full moon.
My goofy answer is a werefish, they went extinct long ago because all of them suffocated when they transformed for the first time.
My less silly answer is a werebat. Vampires and werewolves have always had a connection so I think this could be a fun parallel to both, either being a sick experiment created by vampires or a secretive order of lycanthropes who hunt down vampires with their enhanced senses. Imagine Man-Bat from Batman for an idea of how they’ll look.
My ??? answer is a werehag! Yes, someone cursed to turn into a hag-like creature on occasion. Maybe caused by some sort of failure in the hag’s reproduction process or just by some evil woman acting too much like a hag and being cursed by a real one for any number of reasons.
"The party followed the trail of slime through the dimly lit dungeon, only to find it's end... a bloody pile of tangled lettuce, spinach, dwarves, and gnomes..."

Someone mentioned weresharks and immediately made me think of Street Sharks from the 90s. 😁
