Terlyn casts longstrider on herself before combat if possible, and is more effective in 1v1, especially against melee opponents. She uses hunter's mark, then attacks with a dagger and then moves to a point fifty feet away from her target, ignoring opportunity attacks because of Mobile. She'll do this even against a ranged attacker, as fear usually overtakes strategy for her. Personality-wise, she has horrible anxiety and dislikes people.
The hunter's coat isn't necessary, and it should be replaced by studded leather if she isn't using it.
I knew there would come a time when my obsessive compulsion to randomly make interesting and fun to play and RP characters would come in handy! I went through all the character sheets I've made up over the years fitting those levels (at least, the ones that I didn't print out. There would be a ton more if I included them). I must say, I'm disappointed that so many of them weren't the right level, but there's no use crying over unused character ideas. Anywho, enough jabbering. Here they are!
Avakus, the tiefling creation bard who invented root beer. He's typically quite hyper (due to sugar rushes and too much caffiene) and loves meeting new people, making them different kinds of drinks depending on their preferences, and has lots of support and tactical spells. He typically animates as large an object as available as possible, then uses his spells and abilities to buff it up as he stays mostly in the back, though he defends himself if need be. He prefers talking things out rather than fighting, and tries to calm down anyone who starts fighting, even if he's in the middle of stabbing them with his rapier. He just really doesn't like violence. He's also on the search for a significant other, though he's not obvious about it. He hopes to train and grow his skills through the tournament, and it might be nice if he just to happens to win the reward, too. Then he could expand his tavern, adding a second floor for friends and family, not to mention a bed to sleep in rather than just in a sleeping bag in the middle of the floor. https://www.dungeonmastersvault.com/pages/dnd/5e/characters/17592263128168
Boi Thurkear, the human lore bard son of the famous Hennet Thurkear. He's just looking to meet new people and have a good time, and is really into disco, turning any spherical object he encounters into a disco ball with the Light cantrip. Even in the middle of fights. He also has an Afro of Holding, which cursed him with the Living Shadow dark gift. He boasts often of his father's exploits, hoping one day to have some of his own. He hopes to gain fame through winning the tournament, though that won't stop him from making more disco balls or just spontaneously dancing to any music that plays. He's not really supposed to be a challenge to fight, if anything he'd try to confuse his opponents rather than using actual fighting tactics. https://www.dungeonmastersvault.com/pages/dnd/5e/characters/17592244758129
Nisliel, the tiefling berserker barbarian who I made for one of my players to use in a Christmas oneshot one time, which is why the backstory talks about Christmas presents and thwarting Santa's plans. She often gets terrible ideas, but feels compelled to do them anyway, no matter how terrible they are. Her father owned a noodle shop, and when he turned it over to her, she put wheels on it to try and move it to where the most people were at any given time, but instead ended up driving it into the ground - literally. She was in it when it rolled down a slope into a cave, where it went down a very steep slope and crashed. Somehow, she survived. She feels a compulsive need to get herself and others into trouble, and isn't really keen on fighting in the tournament, but needs the money to fix up her father's shop. She never backs off and is terrible at battle tactics. https://www.dungeonmastersvault.com/pages/dnd/5e/characters/17592244710886
Yenovar, the incredibly edgy half-elf shadow sorcerer who was the son of a lich and vampire before either became undead. He's always had plans to become a great evil overlord himself one day, and when he was infused by far realm energy after an accident when he hired someone to open a portal there, these plans seemed very likely to come to fruition. The only thing holding him back is his wife, who is trying to turn him away from the dark side back to the light, and his kids, who it would be really humiliating for if he became the evil overlord all their friends had to worship. So, he took up fighting in the tournament to compete with others, as his wishes to be powerful compete with his want to make his family happy within himself. He often seems distracted when fighting, as if he'd rather be somewhere else, with no battle tactics other than keeping his distance and using whatever spell seems the most useful at the time. https://www.dungeonmastersvault.com/pages/dnd/5e/characters/17592244278366
Those are all the characters I have of the appropriate level, but I have a couple more that I think would be good, once the party gets a little stronger.
Raisin "The Risen" Brath'tener, the awoken bread loaf (raisin bread) oath of conquest paladin. Originally baked by a merrenoloth in the Nine Hells from which he obtained his last name, he was taught to fight for an evil cause, find a ship and keep it sailing, and always get the job done. So, he joined an evil villain's army and served as a marine. One day, everyone in his contingent was slain except him and his commander, who suffered heavy battle damage. Miraculously, Raisin got away without even a scratch, butchering the entirety of the rebels they were fighting. But his commander was barely conscious, and completely incapable of moving on his own. So, Raisin picked him up and carried him for miles to the nearest city under control of the evil villain he worked for, which is saying a lot, given the fact that he's a literal loaf of bread. He's always happy when near the ocean, and doesn't get bogged down in bad weather. He's very intense, and may be a little insane, seeing a loaf of bread eating the flesh of already dead humans no different than humans eating normal bread. He's competing to win, though he doesn't care for any of the money or fame that comes with it. He just wants to prove himself. He's very slow, but very tanky. He's basically an unstoppable killing machine, if he can get close enough to actually hit. He only has a few javelins, so if he's up against someone with lots of movement speed, he's kinda useless. https://www.dungeonmastersvault.com/pages/dnd/5e/characters/17592265073434
And finally, Uldyr Uresten, the noble half-elf Great Old One warlock. Uldyr is living a bit of a double life, as both the son of two nobles wed for political purposes and a high cultist of Cthulhu. Growing up, he never liked the other noble kids, finding them too snobby, preferring instead to hang out with the common folk. Around age 16, he finally decided to give the noble life another chance, finding that the snobs from years ago had become rather respectable people, for the most part. He shared some of their wishes to get away from the aristocrat life to explore the more lawless realms of the wood elves, though he doesn't go on such adventures often anymore. He did make friends in the more orderly parts of town, though, and keeps in touch with them. He never puts himself above those born with a lower status, a rare trait where he grew up, having seen commonfolk more deserving of the titles and luxuries of noble birth than those who actually had such titles and luxuries. He prefers republics or democracies far more than monarchies, but is, as of yet, unable to do anything about it. He has to prove himself worthy of being a ruler first, which is what pushed him to compete in the tournament, though he's also taking the opportunity to meet with some old friends. During his trips into wood-elf territory, Uldyr discovered the cult of Cthulhu, and became interested at the idea that some higher entity might one day rise from the sea and purge the planet of stuck-up, snobby nobles like his aunt and uncle, leaving their seats open to those more worthy of them. Over the years, he's gained favor among the cult, and has even come close to meeting Cthulhu personally. But first, he must prove his devotion by converting at least 1,000 devotees, including those converted by folks he converted and anyone they convert, along with 1,500 humanoid sacrifices, also including those done by those he converts and those they convert. This is the true purpose for his excursion. Each dawn, he receives a mental report on how many converts and sacrifices he's obtained. He must succeed by the end of the year, lest he be used as a sacrifice in the ceremony to appoint another in his place. He's competing because anyone he kills (intentionally or "accidentally") in the tournament count towards his goal. He is very aggressive, but not stupid. He keeps a good distance, but rarely ever lets up his attack. He just wants to kill folks, though he tries to make it look accidental. For example, he might intentionally shoot above someone who's backed into a corner and at decently low health to break off a piece of wall to crush them, making it look like he just missed. https://www.dungeonmastersvault.com/pages/dnd/5e/characters/17592272433004
Also, I'd be happy using any of these in one-shots, though Discord currently isn't working for me. Feel free to PM me instead so we can figure it out.
Penumbra Jass: https://ddb.ac/characters/66930443/edV9XZ (real name Huigh - pronounced as in "Hew") A Wood-Elf bounty hunter who's skilled in melee and will try to parry blows where possible. When going about his regular job he'll generally tries to intimidate folks with the flaming blade and the smoking armour, rather than fighting people.
Zanril Thunderhoof: https://ddb.ac/characters/43256305/OtX87W (pronounced as it looks - Zan-Rill) A minotaur Paladin of Tempus. Currently looking for a worthy challenger after defeating a party member in a tournament of strength. He's equally good at headbutting or using the mace, so it can be switched up for variety.
EDIT: I meant Tempus. That’s what I get for doing it when I was half-asleep
Finian Stoutarm is an 8th level mountain dwarf fighter. He is the personal bodyguard to High King Derid Kendrick. I have not put much into him but he does have plate mail, shield and a +2 battleaxe. Please feel free to make use of him!
Wow!! Thanks to everyone for the amazing offerings. Keep them coming! Some of these look so much fun to RP, I may just make into regular NPCs the players interact with.

Of course! I'd never let down a fellow D&D nerd in need! If you want, I could try levelling down a few more of my characters and levelling a few more up. Or I could just send them to you how they are, and you could do the levelling yourself (since I'm not sure when I'd have the time to do it).

That's completely upto you.. but I don't mind doing it if you don't want to spend the time on it.
Sherloxodon Holmes https://https://ddb.ac/characters/7106150/ngCjly. I feel like I don't need to say more other than he's not necessarily intended for arena fighting, but the Insightful Fighting class feature is handy to get around that whole "needing an ally" thing if you don't use Tasha's features to do the BA grant advantage.
(I did make a "Mooriarty" minotaur Rogue as well previously, but he's higher level and may have accidentally been deleted)
Hasselhoof https://https://ddb.ac/characters/7089428/R3U9Zr. Straight up Storm Herald (Sea) Barbarian who was made for a game where we started with a bonus feat (Great Weapon Master in this case). He fights in shorts and is topless.

Alright, good. Here ya go.
I'm too lazy to give a give an overview for all these ones, there are just too many. So I'll just give you their name, class, race, and a link to the sheet.
a typical support character in battle, using Mantle of Majesty & Hypnotic pattern to neutralise foes. He also likes to use hex to amplify his viscous mockery, which tends to manifest itself in sweary, crude insults. Don't insult his mum.
his manoeuvres, shield master feat plus 4 different breath weapons give him a lot of options in battle. He's very melee-focused, so tends to charge into the fray. He has an animated shield, which adds a bit of rp depth to his shield master feat. His favourite word by far is "PATHETIC!"
Haven't played him yet, but he will be very fond of his hound called Byron, so that would be his go-to 1st turn along with casting darkness. He is a good guy but cursed with destructive powers he can't fully control, so a poorly aimed fireball that damages allies / bystanders is not beyond the realms.
Cholera was a fussy baby and unfortunately her none-too-bright parents confused colic with cholera, hence her unfortunate name. Given the teasing she endured from her older siblings, she grew up a fighter. Her siblings grew a lot more respectful after she learned her favorite spell, Guiding Bolt.
Morris "Mo" von Shambleshaft - artificer rock gnome used in a level 20 one shot then became a NPC.
Mo is essentially my travelling artificer. He has a home shop run by his wife Maureen (who is an alchemist). There was a typo when they made his sign for his portable shop (Its like a Daern's Instant Fortress but a 2 story shop). It was Suppose to read Mo's Tuff Equipment but the Signmaker made Mo' Stuff & Equipment. This drives Mo crazy when people say the wrong name.
He has a wonderfully high pitched shrill voice with lots of energy but his wife Maureen is very subtle and serene. My players love Mo.
These are all characters I want to try, but haven't had the opportunity to yet:
Hana - a simple beast barbarian, raised by wolves. He left home looking for the poachers that took his 'brother'. He tends to speak in grunts and one syllable words and doesn't smell too good. He is not the greatest master of subtlety and likes to take a simple approach to most problems. His general tactic is to rage and then grab his opponent first turn and then wail on them from that moment onwards, usually recklessly. (He has the fighting initiate unarmed fighting feat and my dm agreed that it works with his natural weapons and also that he can 2-weapon fight with his fists). He primarily uses his claws so he can hit them as many times as possible.
Trent Elderwood - an odd human with no concept of etiquette, social standing, hierarchy or common sense. He has a terrible fear of fire and a great love of nature. He is very sickly, tending to come down with conditions easily and often coughs up blood. The reason for this is he is actually manifestation of dying tree that wants to see the world before it reaches its ultimate end. He is a shepherd and prefers to avoid violence. However, if he must fight he relies on the powers of the earth and beast to aid him - that is he likes to restrain them with snakes and plants and then beat them with his thorn whip. However, if too many of his flock gets hurt, it can sometimes cause him to hesitate dangerously.
Brangus - Orc Swarmkeeper, he is a brutish fellow whose favourite tactic is to cast shillelagh and then hit things over the head until its dead or he is. He enjoys breaking things, fighting, and taking what he wants, but he respects the strong. His swarm are pixies that are constantly annoying him and who find him exceptionally amusing. They sometimes act as a sort of playful conscience on his especially wild actions.
Iamarir - a former thief, he was taken in and trained by a kindly old monk who he mugged, but was kicked out by the rest of the order after the monk's death. He now tries to help others as he was once helped. His preferred tactic is to cast darkness on his gloves and then use his mobility and devil's sight to wail on his opponent before pulling quickly back.
Anyone got any good artificer builds out there that they’d be willing to share? This is a woefully under-represented class in this tournament so far. Thanks in advance!!

Created literally just now so no specified gender, age, etc. The only thing I thought would be amusing is to have the Bagpipes integrated into the back of the armour so there's a few drones (the pipes) sticking out the top of the armour in a fan arrangement.
I am currently playing a tabaxi paladin of the ancients named "White Wash". His background is gladiator and in the arena he is all about giving the audience a good show. He is play- and cheerful and fights accordingly. He also lets the opponents win even if he has the upper hand and will give up if things get too serious. Hence, he has never won a single match.

You've got that as well? Have they come up with a name for it yet? I go with "Creativity ADD".
Penumbra Jass: https://ddb.ac/characters/66930443/edV9XZ (real name Huigh - pronounced as in "Hew") A Wood-Elf bounty hunter who's skilled in melee and will try to parry blows where possible. Hasselhoof https://https://ddb.ac/characters/7089428/R3U9Zr. Straight up Storm Herald (Sea) Barbarian who was made for a game where we started with a bonus feat (Great Weapon Master in this case). He fights in shorts and is topless.
Please take a look at my homebrewed Spells, Magic Items, and Subclasses. Any feedback appreciated.
Alright, good. Here ya go.

Smooth McGill -Level 6 Half-elf bard
https://ddb.ac/characters/36827945/bbzTpk
a typical support character in battle, using Mantle of Majesty & Hypnotic pattern to neutralise foes. He also likes to use hex to amplify his viscous mockery, which tends to manifest itself in sweary, crude insults. Don't insult his mum.
Kriv -Level 6 Dragonborne Battlemaster
https://ddb.ac/characters/42642063/ru7Zxo
his manoeuvres, shield master feat plus 4 different breath weapons give him a lot of options in battle. He's very melee-focused, so tends to charge into the fray. He has an animated shield, which adds a bit of rp depth to his shield master feat. His favourite word by far is "PATHETIC!"
Twitch -Level 6 Var. Human Shadow Sorcerer
https://ddb.ac/characters/62369812/6QgBEc
Haven't played him yet, but he will be very fond of his hound called Byron, so that would be his go-to 1st turn along with casting darkness. He is a good guy but cursed with destructive powers he can't fully control, so a poorly aimed fireball that damages allies / bystanders is not beyond the realms.
Cholera, Life Domain cleric with a chip on her shoulder:
https://ddb.ac/characters/66995473/m6I1x0
Cholera was a fussy baby and unfortunately her none-too-bright parents confused colic with cholera, hence her unfortunate name. Given the teasing she endured from her older siblings, she grew up a fighter. Her siblings grew a lot more respectful after she learned her favorite spell, Guiding Bolt.
Chased away.

He primarily uses his claws so he can hit them as many times as possible.
https://ddb.ac/characters/60519850/iVyWsN
Trent Elderwood - an odd human with no concept of etiquette, social standing, hierarchy or common sense. He has a terrible fear of fire and a great love of nature. He is very sickly, tending to come down with conditions easily and often coughs up blood. The reason for this is he is actually manifestation of dying tree that wants to see the world before it reaches its ultimate end. He is a shepherd and prefers to avoid violence. However, if he must fight he relies on the powers of the earth and beast to aid him - that is he likes to restrain them with snakes and plants and then beat them with his thorn whip. However, if too many of his flock gets hurt, it can sometimes cause him to hesitate dangerously.
https://ddb.ac/characters/55721682/5iEJCy
Brangus - Orc Swarmkeeper, he is a brutish fellow whose favourite tactic is to cast shillelagh and then hit things over the head until its dead or he is. He enjoys breaking things, fighting, and taking what he wants, but he respects the strong. His swarm are pixies that are constantly annoying him and who find him exceptionally amusing. They sometimes act as a sort of playful conscience on his especially wild actions.
https://ddb.ac/characters/41721915/okTDAT
Iamarir - a former thief, he was taken in and trained by a kindly old monk who he mugged, but was kicked out by the rest of the order after the monk's death. He now tries to help others as he was once helped. His preferred tactic is to cast darkness on his gloves and then use his mobility and devil's sight to wail on his opponent before pulling quickly back.

Anyone got any good artificer builds out there that they’d be willing to share? This is a woefully under-represented class in this tournament so far. Thanks in advance!!
I feel bad because I rolled the stats on D&D Beyond, however here's Iarra: http://ddb.ac/characters/67424457/0rToxI
