No point in subscribing any more with a la carte off the table. The best thing about this game was it's customization. Which I was excited to see this resurgence of a great game and all the great things DND beyond brought to the table digitally. Specifically the ability to cherry pick items, classes, races, etc.... Now its back to the money grab...
I've been holding on to a gift key for a couple years now of the 2014 Player's Handbook. I had originally intended to send it to a family member who said they wanted to get into D&D, but they changed their mind a few months later—as did everyone else I know who said they wanted to get into the game—so now I have a gift I'm never going to send due to the new PHB coming in September. I'm wondering if there's any way I could "return" the purchase?

Nice to see the guide updated regarding individual purchases, but it should be noted that the sourcebook and legendary bundles have also been discontinued unless you bought them before the shop was changed.
Not sure where else to post this, but it seems like they added a 1 to the price of the digital + physical bundle by accident. From the main Marketplace page:
2024 Physical Core Rulebook Bundle $49.99
2024 Digital Core Rulebook Bundle $29.99
2024 Digital & Physical Core Rulebook Bundle $179.97

Hi, guys. My question is about the terms of digital books of D&D Beyond.
I have a Master Tier subscription and have bought some digital books for my campaigns. I have a question that might be silly (I don't know if I missed something about D&D Beyond terms):
Let's suppose that D&D Beyond decides to close the doors (discontinue online service for some reason), do I lose all the digital books I have bought? Is there a guarantee of having them in some format to download (e.g. PDF) if this happen?
It came in my mind after 2 friends of mine (DMs too, but very old school and they only use physical books and sheets) said that the only reason they don't come up to D&D Beyond is the fact that there is no guarantees of having the digital books in case D&D Beyond close the doors. Well, I thought it was fair enough. Does anyone have this answer?

One of the advantages of the master tier subscription is sharing your purchased books with others via the campaigns you are in. Other players in those campaigns can access them as long as they are in the campaign with you. An advantage over the physical copies as they wouldn't need to borrow the book(s) from you to look at when you aren't all together in the same place.

One would hope that in the event of a closure of the service that they would make it possible to get pdf copies or other offline method of retaining the books purchased. But sadly that is a risk taken for any online products. I have bought video games that I never started playing that I will never get to play because they had some tie to online and were discontinued. Dndbeyond has been a success for several years now and they keep expanding it's content and features. Certainly a good sign of the future to come. I certainly felt it worth the purchase that I got the legendary bundle early on. I sort of understand them discontinuing the bundle as the more content that gets added the less likely people would be to want to buy everything all at once at a discounted overall cost. But anyway just weigh the costs and advantages and see if they outweigh the worse case.

You can just download the webpages and make copies of those webpages for youself.
This is no different from making copies of your physical books if you are worried about losing them or spilling water on them or something.
The mobile app can download a copy of the content you can access to the device, the copies only work through the app, but they are on the device and the app works with no internet connection. So you can get a copy on a device you own and use them until the device dies if they completely shut the service down.

I think we can close this Topic now and just say:
DON´T BUY.
BOYKOT HASBRO.
END SUBSCRIPTION.
Anything i forgott? Oh yes!
Make private offline Backups of your Homebrew in case HASBRO closes this feature.
Now with the al carte feature gone and losing access to those things I bought previously. Will people relieve reimbursement for those purchases?
If you no longer have access to your piece meal purchases this is new a new issue to me and would expect many more complaints since the store debacle.
Can you confirm this is the case and not the more common issues like:
no longer have content sharing due to leaving a game or a subscription was canceled or has lapsed please?

Well, I guess WotC doesn't want my money anymore... Just wanted to purchase a few items from the books, but I don't have $60 to burn so no buying.

They say "bundle" and show the price of a single book. That's either an error or intentionally and blatantly deceptive. I won't assume which it is.

I preorderd the digital copy of the players handbook when they are released will it be sent to my email or my DND beyond account
Why are you still charging $29.99 for an obsolete product? PHB, DMG, MM... Just seems odd to me.
