I can’t remember the name or edition definitly before 5e. Here’s everything I can remember. It’s an underdark setting written like a training guide for a new underdark explorer. I think in this book they are called delvers .it has notes writen on the pages from a more experienced dwarves delver commenting on what’s on the page similar to Tasha’s cauldron of everything. It also had a friendly type of undead that could speak any language it hears and read and write and language it sees does anyone know what this book is called it’s been 5 years since I had a copy
I think you are looking for the 4th edition book called Underdark. It has a mind flayer on the cover and it has the logo Dungeons and Dragons at the top in red letters.
