The title says it all. Never preorder anything from these guys again. You will get your product days, weeks or even a month past the street date. If you want something use Amazon or better yet buy from your flgs because this is a joke. Trying to save a bunch of you that complete headache that our Dragonlance experience has become.
This is extremely disappointing. The ONLY reason you pre-order something and give someone your money MONTHS before product release is for the guarantee to be the first people to get the products. This is as scummy as it gets. This product is everywhere now in retailers... its everywhere but in the hands of the diehard fans that paid for it early. This is a really sad and f*ucked up way to treat your customers
Getting something days after the release date is normal, especially this time of year. Given that War of the Dragon Queen only came out yesterday, I'm wondering how anyone could possibly be getting it weeks or months after the release date.

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Well my Steiner friend. It’s like this. The Word of Blake (wizards) has responded to us humble supplicants with the reply that they have up to thirty days from release date to fulfill the order. Their hyper pulse generators are broke down and they are relying on jumpship relays which are slower than your Atlas scout Lance. Free Skye!

You pay $165 to preorder something and get it up to a month after it’s released and see how you feel.
I mean, I both used to work in the industry and have? its standard, you really dont have anything to complain bout, its not even three days yet, where i live, i wouldnt even get it till next week due to how mail/shipping works

It was only released yesterday. Please update us when it arrives though! If it really does take a month, that'll certainly be something to complain about.

Especially this time of year. Which brings up another thing: WotC and Hasbro don't have any control over the shipping. The moment they hand the box off to the shipping company it goes into some sort of weird negative space wedgie that involves shipping from Chicago to Seattle via routing it through Atlanta and spending three days sitting on a truck in Cleveland for no apparent reason other than to make it take longer to get to you.

100% shipping is even worse this time of year, I will say lack of communication is a bit...wonky, cuz usually you should be able to let ppl know if its been given to the company, but otherwise yeah they dont have control of that
Here's how it works: The product has a print date. It must be printed and bound by that date.
It is then shipped to a warehouse where it awaits fulfillment.
They cannot tell how long it will take the postal service to deliver your product, and getting it to you before the street date would break their contract, so they actually ship it to you on the street date.
USPS takes over and there's stressors related to the USPS that results in "going postal" being a phrase we all understand.
Now, I will agree with the OP on this: Speak with your dollar. Don't ever pre-order anything again, because the specific message it sends is, "I'm okay with a single blank page and nothing else, as long as the cover says the name I like."
It happened with Spelljammer. It happened with Tasha's. It'll happen again. DO NOT PRE-ORDER. It's a trap.

I think it's worth pointing out that people haven't received the email saying it's even been shipped. They haven't had it printed ready to go, handed it to the delivery companies on time and said "Not much we can do now, if you haven't got it within 30 days let us know and we'll chase it up". They've basically been told that it hasn't even been sent yet and, effectively, that WotC doesn't even want to know unless it still hasn't been sent halfway through January. Not if they haven't received it, but if it hasn't even been sent yet. Given that they've given enough out that the game is sitting on shelves, I think a bit of frustration isn't unreasonable.

Agreed. I liked Tasha's...but in principle I agree. They (any company) have to be offering a really good deal for me to preorder now, the number of times I've been burnt. I dodged this bullet thankfully, thanks to my wife not being interested in it. The number of times I've been burned by preordering and getting rubbish (in general) compared to how many times I've been content with it is not encouraging.
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
I pre-ordered as well and I have no idea how anyone is defending wotc on this. I have received 0 communication, no a shipping notice, no 'hey we're running late', nothing.
They obviously didn't have a problem distributing it, it's in retail stores. My buddy who pre-ordered it off Amazon who lives in Canadian great north had it delivered to his house late on the 5th.
For those saying 'oh well what do you expect', I expect communication, I expect at least a half ssed level of customer service. Look things happen, I get it. But when I give you $150 to be first in line, months in advance and then you ghost me while handing it out to everyone else... No, never again.
This is my bad karma for not buying through my local game shop I guess.
This is the first time I've pre-ordered a physical book and I am regretting it big time. Like this is their first time offering up a physical bundle for folks and they fumble it THIS POORLY?

It's much easier to take a post seriously when the kayfabe is confined to the in-character roleplay channels.

Lesson learned then. Fool me twice…

I have yet to even hear anything about getting mine. I go out of town tomorrow and was hoping to have it before then.
It's sad that I did the preorder thing myself, so I'm stuck. But I won't be doing this again.
Vote with your dollar gentlemen.

Most [REDACTED] will accept almost anything. This is no different.
Simply put: Waiting up to 30 days after the release day to get a product that was pre-ordered months earlier straight sucks and is unacceptable.
