I was just about to go in big with D&D Beyond and buy into the Legendary Bundle once I had sold all of my video game stuff. However, with the current news, even if WotC walks this back I don't think I could give them my money or support any longer. My group will be playing Pathfinder 2E going forward, and looking forward to seeing what Kobold Press develops with Project: Black Flag.
YouTuber DND_Shorts is reporting via Twitter that he has received a message from inside WotC. THIS HAS NOT BEEN CORROBORATED, so take it as you will. If true, however, it's pretty dour.

I have purchased too many books to terminate my DnD Beyond account itself. I use it for my gaming sessions weekly.
I will NOT be purchasing addition materials from WotC (DnD Beyond until this issue is resoved. I'd already decided to either stay with 5e, or switch to Pathfinder 2, when One D&D goes live. I have absolutely no interest in that crap. If I am going to spend cash, I'll go with Pathfinder. WotC is leeching the Lore out of their game, they cannot support high level adventures, and they are Socializing the game into oblivion.
These are all things that Pathfinder 2 still possesses. This OGL 1.1 fiasco is but the last straw with my decision. I MAY but adventures in the future if they do turn out to be backwards compatible with 5e (which I seriously doubt), but I'll see.

I'm not renewing my subscription, and likely not purchasing any further materials. Maybe I will if this whole fiasco gets backpedaled and leadership at Wizards yank their heads out of their ass, but not likely. I'll keep using Beyond as is until my current campaigns are finished or the DM declares a change of system. Pathfinder 2 and Call of Cthulu have been catching my interest...

I'm a Legendary bundle owner and Master Tier subscriber of 3 years. I just cancelled my subscription and will not buy any further D&D content from WotC if the OGL 1.1 as leaked is released.
If a change is made to the OGL 1.1 that actively supports the intended structure of OGL 1.0, this decision may change. If you care for this brand, listen to the community grown over the past 48 years.
I'm waiting to see what they say in the 3pm video. If they do not concede, I will cancel my master tier sub. I've already let my players know that if that happens they will, unfortunately, no longer have access to all the books I've purchased (I have almost all the books).

I run AL games at Conventions, game stores and private games. I run DND Games in my personal gaming group. I have the legendary bundle and have had a master tier since it was offered. Those of us who run AL games at stores and conventions are some of the people bringing new players into the game. DMs are also the ones spending money, I have physical copies of the books, DND Beyond copies and Fantasy Grounds VTT copies. If they don't backtrack they are losing all of my revenue as I'll start promoting another game system.
I'm a legendary bundle owner, and master-tier subscriber, I bought pretty much whatever came out, as it came out, partially to support the hobby I enjoyed.
If this had come out before my renewal date (early December) I would've already pulled the plug, and I will be killing my sub if they decide to try and Hasbro all over the place.

I am a silly goose, at first I thought I lost all use of what I've already paid for the moment I canceled, but I will get the time I've paid for.
This Youtuber is usually the opposite of a rage baiter, so I'm willing to trust that he's not making up his source. He's reviewed One D&D playtest material and he's had a consitently positive attitude towards it right until the OGL leaks. It's just..... sad. I remember a few months ago my friends talked me into being excited for the movie coming out, and now I'm pretty sure none of us want to give WotC our money for anything. Stuff that should be making people joyful is falling on deaf ears. I'm set to DM Out of the Abyss for them in a few months, and none of us have a problem with that (refusing to use stuff you already have is the equivalent of the idiots who smashed their Keurigs), but other than that, the air of negativity is just crushing.
Just an FYI, if you cancel your subscription and you paid annually even if you still get all the benefits of the subscription but it just won't renew. It should still tell WotC that you cancelled though
I'm eager to renew it. But that won't happen until I see that this company acknowledges the depth of contributions from the COMMUNITY. And that the OGL is the reason they're as popular as they are now. If the corporate overlords think I'm undermonetized then, well... I don't know what to say to that. I look at my entire bookshelf full of hard copies and wonder what the hell they think properly monetized looks like.

However, I wonder, over time, won't the absence and disappearance of 3rd party content have an equally negative impact on your players overall? How long do you think before WotC removes the "share" component" in it's content... considering it's turn-about on the original OGL?
I was surprised this hasnt been given and extra cost already on the subscription fee.

I cancelled my top tier subscription yesterday.

I am waiting for the official response from the company. If they go after the 3rd party publishers, I am out.
I posted a thread on how they could accomplish much the same goals without the heavy-handedness. But I doubt if anyone will ever see it.

I am also a Legendary Bundle owner and own all but 3 books which I had no interest in. I joined back in 2017.

I have three red lines:
1) The excessive royalty based on gross revenue
2) The ownership of all 3PP material clause
3) The change anything with 30 days notice clause
If they do not back down from these, that is when I will adjust my spending accordingly (to their detriment.)

I cancelled my renewal today. Was at Hero Tier and have Legendary content, so nearly all the digital books.
