However, I wonder, over time, won't the absence and disappearance of 3rd party content have an equally negative impact on your players overall? How long do you think before WotC removes the "share" component" in it's content... considering it's turn-about on the original OGL?
I was surprised this hasnt been given and extra cost already on the subscription fee.
They can remove that functionality even if the OGL remains untouched. DDB is governed by the Terms of Service, not the OGL.
I'm not renewing my subscription, and likely not purchasing any further materials. Maybe I will if this whole fiasco gets backpedaled and leadership at Wizards yank their heads out of their ass, but not likely. I'll keep using Beyond as is until my current campaigns are finished or the DM declares a change of system. Pathfinder 2 and Call of Cthulu have been catching my interest...
Just an FYI, if you cancel your subscription and you paid annually even if you still get all the benefits of the subscription but it just won't renew. It should still tell WotC that you cancelled though

Cancel NOW while they are listening and watching this trend!
Even if they go back on the proposed OGL why on earth would anyone trust them? I was already leaving WOTC 5e before this fiasco, but this confirms that I have made the right choice. DNDDone as far as I am concerned.
Just canceled my Sub. Will resub if they do the right thing by the community, but I doubt it.

Cancelled my Master Tier Subscription 01/12/23 because of OGL 1.1
All sales are final on digital via support/tos. Don’t like the changes and practices of Hasbro/WoTC stop paying subs/buying their products. That’s what I am doing now.
And don't forget to tell Hasbro *why* you're dumping your subscription in the cancellation notes where they ask.
I cancelled my Master subscription today, until things are fixed and 3rd Party gets a fair shake, based on DnD Shorts post.
Though honestly, after learning from people like the EFF, sounds like 3rd Party should just *never* agree to a license and just work from the non-copyrightable concepts, which is more than I understood before.
35 year player with Legendary & Master tier canceled my sub a few days ago. I also own hardcopies of every 5E and 4e WOTC official D&D books. WOTC will never get another penny of my money if they deauthorize the original OGL, and I will never run their offical version of D&D ever again.
I cancelled my Master Tier subscription until the new version of OGL is changed in a way that works for 3rd Party game developers.
I am a regular bi-weekly player and I own every 5e book that WoTC has produced, but that is dwarfed by my collection of 3rd Party material. My campaign will get by just fine for years to come if I don't buy any more official 5e products and never touch OneDnD.

DND Shorts is one of my favorite D&D related Youtubers along with Nerd Immersion and others. Seeing them react to this controversy has been hard to watch. WotC is burning this hobby to the ground for a lot of folks who have been playing 5e since it released (myself included). I can't stand playing official content anymore because what is released doesn't really innovate at all. It's just rehashed mechanics given a new bit of flavor. Third party creators have breathed so much life into this game for me and I can't stand to see WotC just spit in their faces like this. I've cancelled my sub and am actively looking for an alternative game system to play with my group.
Legendary bundle & master tier subscriber here too - I cancelled yesterday & wrote about the OGL in the feedback box to make sure WotC gets the message.
If Hasbro and WotC are paying attention to this metric, then I have no choice but to respond in kind.
I have also cancelled my subscription, and I absolutely won't be spending a cent on any WotC or Hasbro items until this is completely scrapped. No compromise, no middle ground. This goes. This is against what the community stands by, what Dungeons and Dragons has promised it's fans, and what I as a person am willing to tolerage.
Thanks for reminding me about the great options in other TTRPGs, though, Hasbro. Here's hoping to revive our paused Blades in the Dark campaign.
I've cancelled my subscription and asked for support to delete my account. I am not going to return to WOTC. I've already been playing PF2e for two years so it's not skin off my back. I even have been playing Ironsworn: Starforged solo and am converting a PF2e game into a 13th Age game which is just 3.5e and 4e done right.
As someone who loves Green Ronin, Kobold Press, Paizo, and the many content creators on Youtube I am appalled by what is happening here with the new OGL. I will be cancelling my subscription!
Update 1: Finally - a statement from DnD Beyond / WotC. Albeit the process could have been more open from the start, the message is now at least getting through. I'll put the downed DnD on death saving throws for now. Two fails, one success.
Update 3: Now that's actual progress! Success and back to 1 life. Shaken but alive. Perhaps my friends wont laugh their butts off if I put on my DnD-hoodie next month.

If you say you will not renew, then cancel now.

It is the best way to send them a financial message, and it is working (see insider leak above.)
You will still have the benefits of your sub until the time you paid for runs out. For me it is April.
If WoTC does right, you can always resubscribe.

After today's leak I changed my mind.
I had an annual subscription anyway (paid at last november), so I have plenty of time to figure out, what to do when the subsciption end.
If cancellation rate is their quick way of measurement... then let's have it.
Just canceled my Sub. Will resub if they do the right thing by the community, but I doubt it.

If you thought I was an obstacle between you and "your" money in the past, good luck in the future.

Cancelled my Master Tier subscription and told them was based on their OGL shenanigans
Will take a huge effort on their behalf before they see another penny of my money
EDIT: Irony alert - just been awarded additional forum titles for posting how evil their approach is

Like a number of folks here I've bought basically every WotC D&D 5e book that's currently out (even ones that are frankly very weak).
I have a master tier subscription.
I've brought in at least 3 folks who've purchased books & subscriptions here.
I've tried to be patience, and take a "wait and see" approach.
That no longer feels reasonable.
I've cancelled my subscription, and will not reupp it until:
A) They publicly present written assurances that they will honor the OGL 1.0 in perpetuity (as it already states).
And
B) Apologize to the community for this grasping, money grubbing, pointless emotional roller coaster they've taken us on.
If Hasbro and WotC are paying attention to this metric, then I have no choice but to respond in kind.

If you really want to stick it to them make sure you have your account deleted as well. That will show them!
