I have no reason to delete my account yet, I just cancelled my sub. I plan on moving to pathfinder or something else to run games but even then I may still join in some D&D games with friends and it may come in handy. Or who know, maybe they will surprise us and turn this around somehow.
If we're doing the "we have to talk with our wallets" line, account deletion isn't something that will really register in comparison to sub cancellations. A cancelled sub is future revenue lost, it literally hurts the future margin.
Nah. I own the (license) digital content. I'm not going to throw it in the trash. It's bought and paid for.
If WotC try to take it away. Lawsuits will follow, except I won't ask for access back. I will just ask for my money back.
You do realize that you agreed to their terms. They can delete your paid content you purchased through them anytime they want to. This is why I will not buy into a service like this. You agree that they can change or do whatever they want to the content on their platform. Good luck trying to hit them with legal action. And you better believe that once D&D one releases you can kiss all your content goodbye. You will have to play by their new rules.
Me. I didn't use D&D Beyond much (no subscription), but was considering taking another look and getting back into D&D with the upcoming 6e. That won't happen now. With this giant OGL debacle, even looking at the D&D logo nauseates me. I'm boycotting all things D&D, WotC, and Hasbro going forward until there is a significant leadership change and some serious contrition.
And lets get real, there's no sign of any of that happening any time soon.
So it's time to check out Pathfinder 2e and the other non-D&D rpgs out there (WFRP, The One Ring, Symbaroum, Savage Pathfinder, etc).
