I created an account on that day because I bought the books that day. I commented on the forum because, after realiying what WotC calls "digital format", I was trying to figure out if the access to the website was just one part of it or if there was an actual downloadable digital copy available somewhere as well and I was just not seeing it. The downloadable copy is kind of essential to me, since I would like to share the books with my players while we play online (they are not familiar with the rules). Something that is not possible, it appears, without spending for a monthly subscription, unfortunately, which really adds to the brilliant advantages of WotC's digital format.
When it comes to how common PDFs with hardcopy purchases are, well, I have bought from three publishers (Chaosium, Fria Ligan, Modiphius) in the last six months. They all gave me PDFs. Three out of three might be interpreted as common enough that it might lead to interpreting "digital format" without further specification as meaning PDF. It would be helpful if WotC could have at least clarified what that means.
So I’ve bought two books from the d&d beyond website. My question is how do I now get it to link to the app because I don’t want to keep opening up the page every time I want to do something. In the app it’s still showing up to purchase the book. I am on Apple if that helps
If you have trouble accessing the books from the app, that could be the result of a few different problems:
Your app might need to refresh, try closing and opening the app.
Make sure the account you purchased the books with is the same as the account on your app.
Make sure you purchased the digital book. If you selected the physical copy of the book for purchase instead of the digital one, you will not be able to access the digital version of the book.
Without more details, these are the suggestions I can offer. Hope this helps!
The app is always a bit slow to update as well so if you've followed all of the above suggestions with no luck it's worth waiting a couple of hours and trying again

This is currently the best way I've discovered to download purchased digital books on DnDBeyond as PDF's.
If anyone has come across a better method kindly let us know.
