i dont know if this is the right spot to pit this question but why not, I’ve been looking around for a long time at shops and stores but I can’t seem to find any clue as to where a irl d&d ga,e might be held. I was wondering if any one could point me in the right direction, or something. I’ve used the shop locator things online but they only show magic the gathering games and what not. I also don’t really have any friends irl who play d&d but I still really want to try it. Any help would be appreciated.
When you go into the shop, ask when they run their D&D Adventure League games (usually on Wednesdays) and then ask if there are any non-AL games that are being run and when. That is likely the easiest way to get a run-down of what is available and when.

That correctly shows the stores around me that offer DND. I would suggest putting in your information and then calling the stores around you to confirm their dates/times.
Other places to look online are Meetup.com and Craigslist. My wife and I are currently playing in two separate groups that we found through Meetup.com.
The local board game store to us also posts their events online. If you have a board game store near, check out their website or Facebook page to see if they have D&D play sessions listed.

Is it possible to find information like that beforehand online?
Have you tried this website? http://dnd.wizards.com/playevents/organized-play

Meetup is pretty good for D&D and other RPGs, as well as LARPing and other such events. Just look for "Dungeons and Dragons" games near your hometown.
