Out of the two, Fey touched would be my choice for a melee character. It might get you out of a really tough spot, or get you into the position to be very effective
By the way, nice rolls. 20 str from a race bonus? So the feat is for later on and not part of variant human?
I ask because if this is the start of a campaign I would consider this very over powered with a feat added.
Yes it a mauntain Dwarf Paladin (was quiet lucky on my rolls 18, 16, 16, 16, 13 and 10), the feats is for later on thinking og getting sentinel first, then fey, and then shadow, just can make off my Lind if its any good or i just Will rettet the choise
I think Fey Touched gives you a lot more options to choose from for that bonus spell and being it can be from the divination or enchantment schools means you can take either Hex or Hunters Mark if you don't mind using your concentration on it. Given as a Paladin you'll likely have a decently high AC it could be a nice additional damage boost.
Shadow Touched, for me, is a bit more limited, taking Inflict Wounds would be nice but you might find you need more spell slots than a Paladin has to make it useful.

1) What is the spell that you would take? 2) How do you plan to play your character?
The feats are fine. The question is will they benefit the character build. Will Misty Step and Invisibility benefit your character's role, or will these just "nice to have" in your spellbook.
Well first of all, ill answer you question 2: Hes a Conquest Paladin (thats the plan at lvl 3), when he gets to lvl 7, ill try to control the batlefield whit fear/sentinel gets em to 0 movement.
For you first question: Havent really Thought about it, but maybe cause fear and dont know for 2nd one yet.
Misty Step from fey touched is nice, also gift of alacrity would be a good pick up to help your initiative bonus. I think telekinetic might be a better pick up than shadow touched though. The 5' shove/pull gives you something to do with your bonus action. It can pull an enemy into melee or move them away for you to move without an opportunity attack. Its also helpful in a protector role, moving party members out of melee so they can move more freely.
I play a Elf (Custom Lineage) Bladesingner Wizard with the Fey Touched feat (+1 INT, Silvery Barbs) and like it a lot so far.
I do think its worth noting that RAW, Custom Lineage aren't allowed to take racial based feats.
That said, Fey Touched is a solid feat. Great half ASI, great spell choices.
Fey Touched isn't a racial feat, is it?

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

No, it's not. Maybe they mentioned it for trivia.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
Fey Touched is quite honestly an extremely OP feat. If you're playing a caster of any kind (whether full, half, or third), it adds a massive boost in versatility.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
They are both awesome, but fey is a little better than shadow. That said, if you are going with sentinel, then I would highly recommend polearm master first. The increase in damage output is phenomenal and the combination of the two works beautifully.
Another poster pointed out Telekinetic as an option. Not only do you get mage hand, but you also have the ability to push opponents or allies by 5ft, which can result in some interesting battlefield tactics. It also gives you a +1 to Charisma.
If you don't have a spell to select then this options might not be the best. I can see Misty Step always being helpful, but I question how much do you think Invisibility would be used.
Magic Initiate is an option to consider. You won't get an ability score improvement, but you can take one cantrip that can serve as a range attack But of the two you suggested, I would research Fey Touched more as Misty Step would probably be more utilized.
