I've been trying to figure this out for like five months and i still can't figure it out. like the stranger thing starter set. there's the Demogorgon monstrosity, but then there's the thessalhydra witch if you know your stuff is official dnd stuff. I think it was 3rd edition in a paper, but it never appeared as a state block. but even the Rick and Morty starter set. that has all the monsters and its Rick and Morty, but it has dnd monsters. what about the critical role books. call of the netherdeep is (I'm sure) unofficial when it was made, but there was that one book that mentioned exandria, and then there was explorers guide to wildmount. then there's the extra life stuff and dose free stuff on dnd beyond, like blood hunter, that vecna dossier, honor among thieves etc. please help.
not cannon to the dnd lore I meant. sorry, but thanks.
There's no easy answer to that, because there's no single "D&D lore". The stuff in the Stranger Things set is official for the Stranger Things setting, which is different from the Forgotten Realms setting, which is different from my homebrew Spelljammer, which is different from whatever you choose to run.

Ah, that's an entirely different question that also has multiple answers. Your best bet would be to check out this article: https://dnd.wizards.com/news/dnd-canon
I do love me a quiz (from that link). Got all 5. #1 is because of my neurotic nature and relates to something I do every time I see a representation of one. #s 2 and 3 are hilarious. #5 was a guess which the guess was based on my understanding—IOW just an honest answer. #4 is tricky because the canonical full name in 5e is
The Clockwork Nirvana of Mechanus.
I doubt, though, that I'd get a trickier quiz correct. I follow the extended lore of too many outside sources, and they contradict each other and published lore.
Yet, I will forever think that Modrons might be found at Radio Shack. That answer's just too good to be wrong. Depending on your experiences, the correct answer could easily be a Domain of Dread (though most get by just fine). Makes me wonder if Chris Perkins had a bad experience there.😆 (I'm now very curious...)
Still, I like their explanation: It's so they stay consistent internally for connecting all their publications. We're allowed to do what we wanna, but we should expect to encounter a different lore from WotC (and likely from others) rather than expect our own, but that's okay, too.
I watch two that have two known Hags (each in a different campaigns) who are questionably benevolent in their nature. The result of their thoughts and actions lean decidedly towards Good if one were to place an alignment on them, but the reasons make sense on why they're not the canon malevolent force and why they manipulate things for their own benefit which, as a side-effect, benefits those around them—a sustainable, symbiotic relationship for the sake of their own survival after nearly causing their own demise from their canon nature. (One of those also has several other Hags who are decidedly canonical in their nature, being blights in their controlled regions.)
My opinion: What is canon? Start with canon as a foundation, but build your own from that and be happy with it for what it is... your canon creation.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
I'm not convinced that will be the case. CR content was negotiated with DDB back when it wasn't WotC and doesn't seem to have done much since...and seeing as CR is distancing itself from D&D, I don't foresee them doing much with DDB anymore. I predict they'll just persist until the following edition and then disappear.

Everything on the site is official* with the following exceptions:
*Official in this context means "published by Wizards of the Coast as part of a D&D product"

thanks for the reply. like your opininon
thanks, I've been looking for something like this. you have been a lot of help. and if you find anything, plz send it to me. thanks!
If it is not available on DND Beyond or listed on WOTC Official web site. Other than the few things Dvayd pointed out.
Then it is not official.
There is officially licensed content out there but mostly in the form of mini's and structures.
As those things are allowed, it leads me to think they are on track to become content with One DND
