So I've been researching this for a while because I want to make a Front line spell caster that can just run up and cast fireball, basically a human bomb I know some monks are immune to poison so I don't think fire immunity is outrageous, both common damage types
This doesn't get you fire-immunity, but an evocation wizard can designate people in their evocations spells' AoEs to take no damage. So that might be the way to go at it.

thats a pretty good option tbh. theres also fizbens chromatic dragonborn has a once per long rest element immunity (to your base element) it last a min
In general, permanent damage immunity is not something that player characters have access to, only damage resistance. The Forge Domain for Clerics is one of the few subclasses that provides actual immunity to fire damage, and that's not until 17th level. As an alternative, the Chromatic Dragonborn race from Fizban's Treasury of Dragons gains the ability to become immune to the damage type of their breath weapon for 1 minute per day at 5th level.
But in general, you don't want or need blaster-casters to be that close to the front lines. If somethings in your face, you can use cone or line effect spells like Cone of Cold or Lightning Bolt to hit crowds without having to blast yourself. Or drop the fireball in front of you so you're just out of its effect.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Monks get immunity to poison (and disease) but they don't get to cast an 8d6 poison AoE. (So yes, fire immunity is outrageous.)
Rules As Written you can get Fire Resistance through potions and items. Some races also have built in fire resistance. You don't get a permanent Fire Immunity unless you have Fire Resistance and a Red Dragon Mask. But ask your DM and maybe (s)he'll give you a homebrew item that makes you immune to your own fire damage. It is a ranged spell so you would ordinarily not cast it on yourself. I doubt he would give you that in addition to the Red Dragon Mask. If you have immunity from another source the mask would then heal you when you were hit by fire damage.
Other than an Evocation Wizard, you might choose the Shield Master feat for an evasion equivalent.
You could also run up and cast Globe of Invulnerability on your first turn. Then cast Fireball on your next turn.

Get a ring of fire elemental command and help slay a fire elemental.
Have fire resistance from somewhere and get a red dragon mask.
I’d bet there’s some other items that might do it.
Wish can make you immune to the effects of a single spell for 8 hours.
there is the red dragon mask that lets you get immunity to fire if you have fire resistance before hand
