I'm playing a pirate themed one shot this weekend at lv 8 and am trying to pick between my hex blade or my divination wizard/cleric. The hex blade is pretty optimized for in and out of combat as an all around character while the wizard is pretty much pure support. The latter was made to allow my friends a chance to shine instead of me dominating combat (by helping them succeed on attacks or avoid damage) or social (by keeping my mouth shut and just facilitating them as needed), but I'm not sure it would be ideal for a one shot game instead of a longer campaign.
Thoughts on which I should use?

Pretty straightforward ask.
