While I use mobile phone (cell phone) almost exclusively, I've found that anything I've tried with an 8" screen or smaller doesn't show the post Editor correctly. Anything 10" seems to work fine. If it's a name brand and only a year old I don't think you'll have any issues.
I did use a Huawei matepad 10 which is a few years old as it has Google and a budget option as it was around 150. I found it to be quite frustrating as dice rolls took forever to show. Well not forever but far too long in any case. Thought about picking up an ultrabook to use instead but the costs are far too much for occasional use. But I knew that budget tablets were out of the question.
In the end I was torn between the Huawei matepad pro (2019) and the galaxy tab 6/7. The Galaxy tabs are expensive and I'm not a fan of Samsung hardware or software for that matter but it's the only readily available alternative as I find it hard to find higher end Lenovo options. Samsung gear was very expensive. No far off ultrabook prices. Went for the Huawei Matepad Pro as found a bundle deal for the tablet, the M Pencil and the keyboard case for cheaper than just a galaxy tab s6.
This tablet has no Google services but just use the search to get the apk from apk pure. The hard bit is logging in as I used my Google account to create my beyond account and you need Google services to log in using your Google account. I got round that by linking my beyond account with my twitch account and logging on the app via twitch. The app won't auto update but I keep an eye on the app on my phone and if there's an update I'll just download the latest apk on the tablet and it'll update and keep you logged in.
Performance is much better. Dice rolls show promptly. I'm much happier but I still need to test when I'm round a table in person with everyone using the same internet. With the Huawei multitasking capabilities I can easily have notes, roll20 and dnd beyond up on one screen although it is only a 10.8 screen so it's a bit small ☺️
I have been using a Galaxy Tab S5e for my character sheet and it works great but I recently got an iPad Air (4th gen) since I started to DM more and its nice having a bigger screen for multitasking.
I have used both my phone (Samsung Galaxy S21) and a Samsung S7 Tablet.
The tablet is a bit large for the table, but it's readability is far better than a phone. In neither case do I use the dice rolling feature; I roll by hand.
DM here. I use a Galaxy S21 for the Campaign View of the characters' basic stats, and a Galaxy Tab S5e for the rest of the stuff. I also have a laptop for a browser with like a thousand tabs going. The tablet and phone work great, but tbf they're kind of overkill for what the app needs. I also have a Lenovo Tab2 A10, but that thing is so slow now it's largely useless for anything.
How is the Vasking working for you I have been temped by the off brands. I wish the fires would run the play store since i can get them cheap and they are re;iable

surprisingly well, mind you i don't push it to it's limits at all. i use it for DNDBeyond and web browsing and that's it, and it works really well at those. Battery life isn't great, but suffer-able. And the OS isn't very snappy. You get what you pay for and this fits that bill. It's inexpensive and does what you expect it to. I bought the one running the latest version of Android to give it as long a life as possible.
and yes, like Fires, you dont need to run a time-limited hack to get things off the play store. So that's the biggest plus is that it is native Android with no frills.
I've been using a Lenovo Tab P12 Pro for almost 2 years now. I was too impatient to wait for the Pixel tablet, and I'm not a fan of all the bloatware Samsung crams on their Android devices. The specs were great when I got it and it still holds up well. My two main tablet use cases are D&D Beyond and reading comics, and this one does both jobs without issue. I think that model was phased out shortly after I got it. I'm hoping to get another good year out of it before I have to look for a replacement.
iPad Pro or Mini6, depending on use scenario. I've used an iPad 9 in the past and had good results. There are a couple of graphics settings you can turn off for the dice which can help slower tablets. Also, the Beyond App isn't nearly as good as the website so if your screen is big enough I would recommend using that.

It has one purpose, DND Beyond. No other fluff.

My iPad works great. It's a couple of years old, but it doesn't have any problems.

I'm currently working with a Samsung Tab A and testing my dice on it. It's a bit slow, but after some updates, I got it to work

Been using a Lenovo Yoga Tab 11 for about 3 years now
