Yes and no. Less damage and less HP, sure, but now its trip ability is automatic (no saving throw) and works on any creature up to Huge, creatures that would have been easily passing a DC 13 Strength save anyway. This is going to be quite an early lockdown form for Moon Druids I think, especially since you keep the Grappler feat in wild shape.
Bite isn't an unarmed strike. This also makes me wonder what they'll do with bears (which have always been a huge outlier on CR 1 attack power). Change their CR? Remove multiattack?
I would be surprised if they changed the CR. They've said more than once now that they planned on keeping all of the CRs the same, but changing the monsters themselves to be more in line with those CRs.
Point, so the auto-pin with grappler is out (at least until they can get a second attack, e.g. via Haste or Martial Arts), but auto-trip is still quite good and still allows you to easily pin targets by coordinating with an ally.

Treantmonk's druid video (which might still be paywalled on his Patreon) talks about the Brown Bear. It's the same CR as before, but has less HP and less damage than before. Still multiple attacks though, which will combo well with the moon druid's multiple sources of extra damage (e.g. CME or Font of Moonlight). In addition, the Elephant is CR 4 in the PHB and also has multiple attacks now.
I only see four categories of information because of the way color is used, which seems less visually clear to me. I feel the print version is also less readable because of the colored backgrounds.
Have they laid off their design team or something? The previous stat blocks look great, slightly textured to resemble old paper, and the stats were far more readable. Why in the world did they feel the need to make it a table??? And a vertical one at that... Saving throws don't need their own column and they were fine as they were before, mentioned only if they have an additional bonus...
They either need to fix this or hire a new designer, because AI isn't going to fix this for them.
I mainly only dislike the colored ability score boxes. Otherwise it's fine. (Oh, and I would like the PB to go back to being in bold and on its own rather than hidden away in the CR parentheses with the XP value).
