Are new players really just jumping into multiclassing? I played and ran a 5e campaign for years before I went near it.
They were separate bullets for a reason - the new player issue is for subclasses, not multiclassing. The more they print (and it's a given that they'd keep printing more), the more new players might feel pressured to evaluate.
If you haven’t seen the tv show “Reaper,” I’d like to recommend it. It is a supernatural comedy about parents who sold their firstborn to the Devil and planned to never have kids.

ah... sadly a sitcom, I can't watch any TV show with canned laughter. It really bugs me. However... on this I recommend "Brimstone" it was on the Sci-Fi Network in 2000. A dead cop was released from Hell by Satan to hunt escaped demons (aka horrible sinners who deserve hell? maybe) it was kind of like a comic book series, it was kind of dark had some humor but was considered Drama. It stared Peter Horton ( a mildly familiar actor) as the Cop and John Glover (a famous character actor you know but never knew the name of) as the devil.
