I used the block option in shared content. Blocked 2024 PHB, logically that should work
That doesn't work as the character builder will still contain all information.
There isn't a way to block the new spells. They are the assumed default of the game and will always be there. Your players will just have to make sure to always select the legacy version.
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
If you're playing a 2024 character you can hide the 2014 spells with the "Legacy" toggle. If you're playing a 2014 character there is no way to hide the 2024 spells. I would hope that this is a temporary measure and they will put in a "2024" toggle at some point, but I won't hold my breath.
Characters that select a 2014 class will be able to see and access both 2014 and 2024 versions of every spell that was updated in the 2024 Player's Handbook. Characters that select a 2024 class will only see the updated versions of the 2024 spell (as well as spells from other source materials).
And why? I am so excited about the new spells, feats, backgrounds etc.
That doesn't fix the issue as it only restricts Compendium access and doesn't work if the player owns the source.
And for me it's an issue that I have certain players who use D&D Beyond and other players who do not. Can't be having everyone with different spells running around. It's bad enough having to keep track of one version of a spell.
I'm 100% with you there Miss V86. It is a total pain in the wotsit the way they have cluttered up the spells with new vs. legacy spells. Where's the bl**dy toggle to turn off the new spells? I don't want to play the new rules yet. Let me finish this campaign first!

Maybe they will make one eventually. They weren't planning on having old spells to begin with, so it wasn't going to be an issue.

Hey,
i am middle in a campaign and want to play with the 2014 spells and rules with my group, but now all spells are doubled in the Character menu.
How can i Deactivate the 2024 content for the time of the Campaign?
Thanks for the Help

Didn't they say they were doing a toggle?

I don't see anywhere to switch anything off but Legacy off. Since we can't see your character, we don't know what you have selected or not.
do not include them in your shared content.
