TL;DR: Bundles are only reduced by what you actually pay not what books are remaining however purchasing a Bundle reduces the Legendary bundle by the cost of the Bundle.
Back on Cyber Monday, I bought all of the source books when they were all 19.99 ($10 off most books) except for Tortle, Wayfinders (because It was already 19.99 and I was already getting Eberron), and got the PHB for $10 (50% Coupon from Essentials Kit + Cyber Monday 19.99 sale) getting a majority of the entire Sourcebook bundle for ~$190 (Savings of ~$110) . At the time, they reduced the cost of the bundle as well but not to the point where it matched the savings.
After Cyber Monday I saw that the Source Book bundle was now $106 for $30 worth of books. This is because the bundle is discounted by what you pay not by what books are remaining. I confirmed this in an email exchange with DNDB customer service. Hard pass.
Today, as posted, there are three new codes. Thanks from a tip from MetaMongoose, the code counts the 1.99 Sapphire Dragon as a book and provides a $5 discount. I found you if you put just Sapphire Dragon in the cart, it discounts $5 but the total is still $1.99 but if you add a 2nd book the code does $10 discount so I got Sapphire Dragon and Tortle Package for $1.99 (plus tax, which is apparently now a thing). I found that this purchase lowered the price of the bundle by $5 (even though I paid ~$2)
Next I applied the SOURCEBOOKTHANKS code and redeuced the Source book bundle from $110 down to $35 for $30 worth of books.
When I did this, the Legendary Bundle was reduced from ~$432 down to $301. When I taked on the LEGENDARYTHANKS code, it dropped it even further to $151 (plus tax).
After all the dust has settled, (including the physical essentials kit i got at target) I paid ~$417 for $633 worth of content for a total discount of 34% off.
For science, I bought a single book using BOOKTHANKS. It won't let you use BOOKTHANKS a second time. Hope this helps someone.
Yeah, I stumbled on this when I bought a $9.99 adventure and the $1.99 Sapphire Dragon unlock and got $10.00 off because both are technically "Books." Basically I bought the dragon and got the adventure for free. If I was smarter, I'd have loaded up on all the $4.99 adventures as well and gotten them all for free too. But since you can't use the code twice, I hecked that one up. Maybe next time.
Sadly the Sapphire Dragon doesn't count as a "book" on its own... It showed the discount code as taking $5 off book purchases but the price didn't change. But I suppose that would sort of defeat the purpose of the product as a donation to charity :P
It does. The cart wont the price go negative. Add a second book and see what happens
When stacking these codes do you do this in three transactions? Once per code?
UPDATE: It looks like doing Sapphire Dragon plus any $9.99 book is worth doing first because it translates a $1.99 spend as $5 off the bundle. But I don't think doing the sourcebook bundle before Legendary makes any difference as the price wil be the same in the end. You might as well do the dragon trick then the final bundle you want. My logic and calculations: Buy Sourcebundle at a discount and pay $200 (for example). Then Legendary bundle is $200 cheaper going from $450 to $250. So you either pay $200+$250 in two transactions or $450 in one transaction.

All I know is that I bought a dragon and a $10 adventure today and only got charged $1.99, which is the cost of the dragon. Do with that information what you will.

I reached two conclusions from my calculations and assumptions..
1) Everyone not already owning everything but looking to get a bundle should get the dragon and a $9.99 book. This $1.99 spend reduces the bundle costs by $5.
2) It doesn't make any difference if you buy the Source Bundle then Legendary Bundle after that or go directly to the Legendary Bundle. You pay the same either way. The source bundle is only needed if you ONLY want the source books (for now at least).
Example: Pay $130.94 on Source using the source discount code. Then Legendary bundle (with that discount) reduces by $130.94 to $205.35. Final spend is $336.29. OR Pay $336.29 for the Legendary Bundle with discount.

It makes a difference. My legendary bundle cost was $345. With $150 off it would have cost me $195.
But buying the sourcebook bundle, with discount first, brought the legendary bundle down to about $228. and then the legendary bundle with the discount came to about $78.
Holy Moly you are right. Buying the Source Bundle before Legendary is saving me £60!
Right now (after doing the dragon trick and source bundle) My Legendary Bundle is showing as $280.35. That's LESS than the Adventure Bundle at $317.59 for the exact same books plus the extra 5% future discount.

It seems you might also be right that this is a result of this being a result of the final "price" being negative, given that a similar issue was reported here: Anyone know where this $2 charge is coming from?
Either it has been fixed (likely since someone is reporting that the dragon bug is fixed) or that the trigger is when you buy source bundle using the code. In other words this benefits only those that did not yet have any bundle. In any case, I'm glad for my own sake that I took the risk and acted swiftly.
Seems like the BOOKTHANKS code no longer applies to books under 10$. Tried it with sapphire dragon (1.99), tortle (9.99) and wayfinders guide (19.99). Only the wayfinders was discounted.
SOURCEBOOKTHANKS and LEGENDARYTHANKS still work together, I needed to wait a little for the prices to refresh.
I bought all books which were discounted on Cyber Monday from 29.99 to 19.99. The LegendaryBundle was around 357$ and sourcebook bundle around 110$. Pure discount on legendary would reduce the price to 207$. I bought the sourcebook bundle with the 75$ discount which reduced the legendary bundle to 246$, which with the 150$ discount was paid 96$.
Tl;dr, use both discounts if possible, 225$ discount is better than 150$ discount :).
"Seems like the BOOKTHANKS code no longer applies to books under 10$. Tried it with sapphire dragon (1.99), tortle (9.99) and wayfinders guide (19.99). Only the wayfinders was discounted."
Only one of those are considered a book, I assume. Adam mentioned on yesterdays Dev update that the Sapphire Dragon wasn't considered a book, and that's likely about the Tortle package as well.

I can confirm that if you used BOOKTHANKS yesterday, the one-time use seems to have reset overnight (maybe as they patched the sapphire dragon coupon error?) so I was able to use it again on another purchase. It worked on the Stranger Things adventure which was $9.99. It now won't let me use it again.

UPDATE: I am wrong about this (see below)
Yeah that 150$ off legendary bundle was to good to pass up.... I got it, lord help me but I did.

These flat discounts (as opposed to % based discounts) are the best for people who have been buying books with % coupons.

Yes I did this today
Didn't realize replying doesn't quote the origin. I was replying to the comment on my original about the two discounts stacking.
I think they fixed the Sapphire Dragon and 2nd sourcebook for $10 off thing, just tried it and it didn't work.
It seems you might also be right that this is a result of this being a result of the final "price" being negative, given that a similar issue was reported here: Anyone know where this $2 charge is coming from?
Strange for These People that already have purchased the sourcebook bundle...
My Price for the Legendary ist 380 right now and I am just able to get it down the 150 to 230.

Nice so $7 for $22 of stuff? I have nothing rn but I’m tempted to just get everything lol
Does anyone know how long the LEGENDARYTHANKS promo last?
Apparently Adam said during the dev update that they'd last at least through the end of the month.
