I've had a basket full of content picked out waiting for a code. I've been back and forth between digital or hardback for 5e after getting back into D&D.
Amazon is selling 3 for 2 WOTC hardbacks for Black Friday starting today.
You snooze, you lose, DnDBeyond. Hardbacks don't crash and I never pay for anything twice.

Exactly how I'm feeling right now. This radio silence is not doing them any favours. I've been waiting for a discount to buy the legendary bundle from scratch.
With the lack of any news though I'm strongly considering ditching DnDBeyond and just getting the hard copies like you say as I have no intention of buying twice.
I can wholeheartedly reiterate the above concerns, I've got a group of players ready to play, I told them a month ago wait until DnDBeyond has a sale and I'll be buying the sourcebooks and subscribing, that way (with many being new) it'll be easier to handle character sheets.
Anyway, I would wait until Friday, since Amazon Sale goes until Monday anyway.
Not that it makes a difference for me since I need both German and English version of the books (for different groups) anyway, so I would be double-dipping regardless. Really wish they had the German translations here. :/
People are already expecting a deal. Letting said people here know something is in the works, even without giving specifics, would do no harm and probably prevent some jumping ship as has already happened.
Radio silence is not a good business decision in this situation for the reasons given above. There's a reason all the other big businesses get in early with their sales nowadays and its not out of the goodness of their hearts.
Obviously if they were planning some sort of out the blue unexpected sale then it would make sense to announce that last minute but that's a completely different matter.

I won't knock a person for wanting the best deal possible, but if you have a local gaming store with D&D stuff on sale, you may want to see if they can tip the scales away from Amazon. I'm not even hating on Amazon here. I'm just saying our local gaming stores always need love and Amazon will do just fine either way.
Local game shop always has the books at full MSRP and is not discounting any of the books on black Friday soo amazon will be my choice if dndbeyond doesnt have a sale

That's a bummer local game shops around where I live put stuff on sale all the time. Heck some of them even deal in used stuff so you end up saving by just buying used. Hopefully there will be a sale for dndbeyond. i'm rooting for all ya'll.

The margins on D&D books aren't great and Amazon basically sells them below what most stores can even buy them at. As an FLGS you either try to monetize the books or the events. Standing on MSRP because you model your business as a service is a worthwhile effort if you can pull it off.
According to the D&D Beyond Twitter, they’re entire staff is out until Monday. Of course you cant blame them for that, but that means no Black Friday sale. Its possible there is gonna be a Cyber Monday sale. Hold on y’all, we might get something good!

Unfortunately, Amazon sale ends on Monday, for the people that are considering that.

Thanks for keeping on top of this everyone. Glad to hear that last year Monday was the day, since it does indeed look they aren't planning on launching anything over the weekend!
We'd like to wish you a happy Thanksgiving weekend! Our staff will be spending the holiday with friends and families, and will return Dec 2nd. But rest assured that all services will be monitored to ensure you have D&D Beyond for your holiday game sessions. Thank you! pic.twitter.com/Uv0bfYn8wJ
Bright side: Glad they get a break! Sucks to hear about tech companies that work their employees to the bone. DNDB really feels like there's people putting love into it, glad they get some organized time off 🙏🏻
D&D player going back to the 90s with 2e and 3e. Didn't play for years and ended up skipping 3.5e and 4e entirely. Very excited about the openness and clarity of 5e.
Experiences DMing were mostly misadventures back in the day, but trying to be ready to be a decent DM now that my wisdom has gone up a bit.

Just got back into the Game, but it looks like cyber Monday was the time to buy last year. I’m holding off until then...

I was a big Hastings customer until they closed. Now it's a 2 hour drive. But I feel ya.

Atleast everything is like 30% off for us, so it's almost buy 2 get 1 free

Like at 12AM Monday or end of the day Monday?
