good morning, and great catch. I can see that they're present in the D&D Beyond Basic Rules, but not the SRD. Getting clarification on that now.
Has there been any updates about this?
Not since Friday. OP asked if there would be an update, to which I said yes, but then the weekend happened. There were also other things that were caught by us and community members that need fixing, so we're making sure everything is ship-shape before putting the update out.

It appears the Octopus stat block was left out of the SRD 5.2 by mistake. The Find Familiar spell in the SRD says the following:
"an animal form you choose: Bat, Cat, Frog, Hawk,Lizard, Octopus, Owl, Rat, Raven, Spider, Weasel."
But the Octopus stat block is not in the SRD 5.2. The Octopus is one of the stat blocks in the players handbook. They also include in the SRD 5.2 the Giant Octopus. The 2014 Octopus is in SRD 5.1

The FAQ attached to the SRD page will answer your questions about the Artificer.
Just to build on the above for convenience, here is what the FAQ says about Artificer:
SRD 5.2 includes a wide range of content from the 2024 core rulebooks, but some classes (such as the Artificer), species (like Aasimar), and monsters (including the Beholder) have been excluded. These exclusions are based on brand identity protection, licensing strategy, and intellectual property rights.
Disappointing as it is (I was really hoping they'd be included too) I guess the fact an Artificer is so directly tied to the Eberron setting makes them as much an IP thing as a games mechanic thing compared to things like wizards and sorcerers that are so ubiquitous in fantasy

I popped over to the DMsGuild after reading this, because I know so many people create Eberron content there (Keith Baker publishes his stuff there) and there's a lot of third-party Artificer content there. A route to creating content based around the Artificer does exist, it's just not appealing to some folks, I guess.
All that besides, I also do know that there's confusion between how the DMsGuild works and how it all works with the SRD anyway...

An update: SRD 5.2.1 is now available, which updates the SRD to include the 15 magic items mistakenly omitted from version 5.2, adds the Octopus, and some other minor corrections. View the full changelog in our latest Community Update!
Thanks to you Observant folks who noticed those omissions. It was fully our intent for them to be present in the first iteration of the SRD.

As others have mentioned, just because something is considered closed IP by Wizards doesn't mean it's totally off-limits to publish commercial content using it, rather it means you need to go through the DMsGuild process (which involves, among other things, a 50% royalty and exclusive marketplace rights) as opposed to the far more open CC/SRD process. Both routes are still perfectly legal, the first just involves a few more hoops. If you or someone you know feels strongly about making and selling stuff for the Artificer then consider that option; you can read more about how to do so here.
(The third route is getting a private license with WotC, like Netflix and Larian did, but I'm only mentioning that one for completeness as it's vanishingly unlikely unless WotC reaches out first.)
Is there any chance of getting at least the framework of the Bastion system included into the SRD? This would open up 3rd parties to included their own rooms, maybe tailored to their settings.

Not quite on topic, but I'd like to say I am 100% loving the responsiveness. <3 <3 <3

Do we have any news regarding the artificer going into creative commons?

Still no Banshee, Cyclops, or Yeti (I can see the IP arguments for Flameskull, Nothic, and Twig Blight).
Those weren't in 5.1, though.

@LaTiaJacquise could we please get the following rules added to the SRD 5.2?
line of sight and cover on page 45 of the DMG
When to call for a (perception) check on page 35 of the DMG
Audible Distance on page 36 of the DMG
Thanks!
