I got the new source when it was released and have been trying to use it for my game set in 2024. However, I find it frustrating that whenever I search for a monster on Google or read a published adventure, the hyperlinks always direct me to the old stat block. Is there a way to set it to default to the new version?
Long answer: If the books are written for 2014 rules then it will link to 2014 things. Only books written for 2024 rules are going to link to 2024 things. D&D Beyond cannot do anything about search results on Google.

To add one other point to Cyb3rM1nd's points, there are many people who still play with the 2014 rules, so DDB has to do a bit of a balancing act to try and keep both 2014 and 2024 players happy.
For published adventures from WotC they updated some but definitely not all. With published adventures from others, no. And for the D&D beyond searches, limit your sources.
For Google, nope, and it'll take a long time to filter them out as people continue to use the old links.

Specifically regarding the Encounter Builder which remains the best search device for monsters:
Alternatively, select MM in the sources to limit to only that.
The VTT token selector has a similar toggle, but it's not the best place to search for monsters.
