They should add a Minecraft sourcebook and add it as a free download for the application. This will be greatly appreciated by those who remember the elemental evil player companion that was an extra free of charge sourcebook for players to supplement their basic rules guide. Tell me what you think about my idea! Post your thoughts here!

It could be cool for people who want it, so from that angle, sure, why not. But in a practical sense, they’re probably have to cut some kind of licensing deal with Microsoft. I wonder if they’d be able to do that and still keep it profitable. Partly because of the opportunity cost. They could have game developers working on that, and give a chunk of the money to MS, or have them make a WotC-owned property, and keep all the money. It seems like Minecraft would have to do insane sale numbers for it to be the more lucrative option.
Even if it isn't possible to do so, I would like to see a campaign setting sourcebook with all of the bells and whistles, so to speak, to supplement the basic rules for the application. Anything new in this regard, even if it is only available for master tier subscribed membership customers only, to make it more appealing to upgrade subscriptions to master tier.
I feel as though an attempt to make a Minecraft campaign setting would take time and money better spent toward supporting D&D's already existing setting. And wouldn't work especially well for D&D.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
However, Microsoft could definitely make the setting using the D&D SRD and some skilled designers. They hold all the licenses and control. It's not something WotC would want to do as they would never own the setting.
How about rehashing the Diablo 2 adventure to celebrate the rerealease for the switch? Or team up the Nintendo crew for creating a whole new book to help advertise the new legend of Zelda movie they are making? Or team up with blizzard entertainment and create one for Warcraft. Just adding my book ideas. Continue telling me your thoughts on my ideas. I would like to to hear them.

Same thing.
For any Intellectual Property, the owner of the property has to be the driver behind it. WotC can host their third party offering, but WotC won't invest that much money into a product that ultimately, they won't have creative and financial control over. That's why they make TTRPG settings for their Magic The Gathering worlds etc. If they don't own the IP, it's up to the owner to want to do it, and WotC can support it.
K, then how about another magic the gathering book, this time delving into a key magic plane like zendikar or innistrad or even amonkhet, another one would be kaladesh. Or even dominaria. These ones I would love to see!

Sure, that's completely fine. And they've already done three of the MTG settings:

They did. They did creatures for it and an adventure. I'm not sure what's still available. I got both when they were first released.

I can't say I've tried it, but I guess it wasn't something everyone was raving about.
ETA: Seems they're no longer available.

I meant a campaign setting focused on that world. All the stat blocks, all the dimensions, all the magic items, all the equipment, and spells, etc.

Pretty sure they’re working on Lorwyn from mtg. I don’t think there’s an official date yet, but maybe for next year.
