Davyd is correct that this is not allowed by the rules, but D&D Beyond does allow you to do this if you really want to; you just have to turn off the Multiclass Requirements checkbox on the Home tab of the character builder.
It does, of course, also disable the ability score requirements for multiclassing, but if you're going outside the rules you might as well go for broke.
Wizards has prohibited mixing the 2014 and 2025 versions for the sake of simplicity and balance—the mechanics are very different. But that's just the official rule: your DM can fully allow multiclassing between versions if everyone at the table is okay with it.

Because it's not supported by the rules and was never intended to be supported.
