Hope springs eternal, but money makes the world go round. I bought the Free League LotR, if enough others did then there may well be more content coming.
I'm dubious, it's been on DDB for a while now, like over a year, and there's been no word about the various expansions (there are seven now). Add on that LotRRP seems to not be doing as well as TOR (still pretty good, but not as well as TOR) and poor implementation here...and I'm skeptical. It's not impossible, but unlikely.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
Out of curiosity, what has been rough about the LotR 5E content?
The reports are pretty bad. Basically, you have to reconfigure all of the skills on the character sheet yourself. The extra features of the game like Shadow are not included or tracked, so you have to do that separately (which also kind of defeats the object of having it on DDB). Combine that with the fact that things like spells (which is where the utility of DDB really shines) aren't really part of the game...and it's a bit of a waste. You're really just paying for the ability to have it on your DDB account. Which if you want that, great, but the PDF is cheaper elsewhere (not far off half the price normally, $25 Vs $40, and less than half price right now) and you're not beholden to DDB if and when they decide to discontinue the website.
If they implemented it properly, there could be some value to it, but right now, it's just not worth it and I don't foresee that changing.

The main issue, as Lin mentioned, was needing to configure new Skills that Lord of the Rings introduces that isn't standard to D&D (and it's for a good reason - to really make it feel like Lord of the Rings). However, it would have been nice, if in character creation there was an option to select Lord of the Rings and it would pull those skills in for you. (It's not a big deal to add them; they made it easy and the first official post on here shows how to do it). There's also the issue, during character creation that the standard "D&D Background" is available as a choice, but it's not correct - the Lord of the Rings has a unique background select, so you have to NOT select the D&D Background and make sure you go to the proper section and select the Lord of the Rings background; but then there was issues with equipment (mainly armor) from Lord of the Rings not working proper on characters (such as causing Disadvantage when it shouldn't), and a few other things like that. (Unlike what Link mentions, it makes sense there's no spells - because none of the character classes - called "Callings") are spell casters. There is no wizard or cleric or anything like that available to players. (Which is fantastic, so it's not just another D&D knock off).
I'm currently running a Play By Post with the Lord of the Rings ruleset and it's been absolutely amazing.
... that the other Lord of the Rings 5e books might also eventually be made available here on D&D Beyond?

I, admittedly, expressed a lot of frustration with D&D Beyond's implementation of the game here (because it felt like, "Let's release it and work on the bugs later, but sell it now!" type of thing - https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/release-issues-support/211409-the-lord-of-the-rings-roleplaying-bug-and-support if you're bored and want to read through the support thread). I actually still don't know if they ever fixed the downloadable character sheet issue
