Do you mean "Deadfall" because it's just described as an adventure expansion, not a campaign.
As far as I can tell they haven't used the term "adventure expansion" before, so we don't know exactly what it is. However, Dragon Delves (which uses the same trade dress of that red bar across the bottom of the book) is called an "adventure anthology", and Ravenloft (which also uses that trade dress) is a "gameplay expansion". That tells us that it's presumably neither an anthology nor a campaign setting, so by default I'd guess it's a large scale adventure.

Hmm, odd. I only have the digital copy of Dungeon Delves, which doesn't feature the bottom banner in the library. Only the Ravenloft stuff has it.
The description for Deadfall on that page seem to indicate it is a full adventure. I think the "expansion" is referring to it being part of the Season of Arcana/Magic series. New term for same-old/same-old. Probably something we'll see more of if they stick with the seasons format.
So it seems like it is an "Expansion that is an Adventure" what we used to just call Adventures. I can see the naming convention, but was initially confused, as 'Adventure Expansion' sounds like what you would call an Expansion TO an Adventure.
Yes i know the naming convention is because they are separating the Mechanical Expansions (Gameplay Expansion) and the Adventures so we can have more modularity in our purchases, so no need to lecture me on that.

He/Him. Loooooooooong time Player. The Dark days of the THAC0 system are behind us.
"Hope is a fire that burns in us all If only an ember, awaiting your call To rise up in triumph should we all unite The spark for change is yours to ignite." Kalandra - The State of the World
But is "Full Adventure" the equivalent of "Lost Mines of Phandelver", or "Storm King's Thunder". The Campaign vs Adventure nomenclature has broken down over the years and doesn't seem to have the same structure of "An Adventure is made up of a handful of sessions, and a Campaign is made up of a number of Adventures".
So the question is, how long will Deadfall take to play through? 2 sessions, 10 sessions, or 104 sessions?
Been wondering the same. I think we will just have to wait and see.
Also wondering at its quality. Will it be worth running on its own or is it going to be another one of those "Mixer Adventures" where you just use bits of it in homebrew campaigns.
