How do I create a character in DNDB in 5.5 but use spells from 5e?

Hi all,

I'm in a group and we play in 5e.  We are starting a new campaign and I asked if I can play a Druid using 5.5 rules.   I am trying to create the character with 5e spells.  How can I do that?  Cure wounds went from 1d8 to 2d8 and that is a 'no-go' for the team

The 5e spells aren't coded to work with 5.5e characters because that's literally not allowed by the rules. You'll have to create a homebrew copy of every 5e spell you plan to use and add the 5.5e class as available to use it. 

Kind of silly to get up in arms over Cure Wounds of all things though. Healing has always been underpowered compared to damage spells, this just helps fix that issue.

An easier way would be to make a homebrew copy of the druid 5.5 subclass you want, but for 5e. Then you won't have to mess with spells.

 This doesn't help in the slightest if you want the Druid base class as it is in 5.5e.

Ah, true enough, I forgot about that -- I guess enough of the base class features aren't as easy to adjust into the subclass (plus you can't remove stuff from the extant 5e base class).

I do have. I do have everything selected, but certain spells. I cannot choose the legacy one.    I do like DnD and beyond because I’m a relatively new player and I’m not totally solid on 11 leveling up. However, sometimes the platform isn’t that helpful
