Hi! I usually play a Tempest/Storm character. I've just signed up for D&D Beyond so I can build my character here and play more comfortably with my gf, but we noticed that the free version only includes one subclass per class.
If I want to use the Xanathar subclasses, do I need to buy both the 2024 Player's Handbook and Xanathar's Guide to Everything, or is the 2024 Player's Handbook alone enough?
I'm asking because Xanathar's contains content that no longer exists in the 2024 rules, like the Hexblade.
And, as she plays an Eldritch Knight and I play a Tempest/Storm character, it would cost us around €60 just for digital copies.
If you own the physical books, you can use the homebrew system to manually add the subclass you want to play. It is a frustrating and arduous process, but it is a work around D&D Beyond staff has indicated they are comfortable with. The only caveat is that you must keep the content private and cannot publicly share the copyrighted content.

Thank you so much!
Purchasing the Player's Handbook won't get you access to any of the subclasses from Xanathar's Guide to Everything. You'd need to actually have access to Xanathar's for that.
The books you'd need for the subclasses you've mentioned are:
Tempest: if you're talking about Tempest Domain for the Cleric class, you need the 2014 Player's Handbook for that; there's no 5.5e version of it (yet).
Storm: if you're talking about Storm Sorcery for the Sorcerer class, you'd likewise need the 5e/2014 version of the Player's Handbook as there's no 5.5e version.
Eldritch Knight: you need the Player's Handbook version appropriate to whichever version of the rules you're playing.
Hexblade: you need Xanathar's Guide to Everything.
You do not need to actually purchase anything if you know someone who owns the digital book(s) in question and has a master-tier subscription; they can create a campaign and share the content with you that way.
As AndredSkratch pointed out, there are also some "starter packs" for various classes that you can buy for around $5 that include some subclasses that aren't in the Basic Rules. However, of the ones you've mentioned, only the 5.5e Eldritch Knight is included in any of these, as they only have 5.5e content.

So we could play with homebrew classes (the same classes but homebrew) without paying anything? And could we use our characters together on our own maps and campaigns?

Not homebrew classes, which D&D Beyond doesn't have support for. But you can create homebrew subclasses, spells, species, feats, magic items, and monsters.
That said, all the official classes except Artificer are free anyway.
Yes. What I meant was that there's no 5.5e version of the Tempest Cleric subclass (or the Storm Sorcery subclass, or the Hexblade subclass). Buying the 5.5e Player's Handbook will not get you access to these.

There are Starter Packs in the marketplace for $4.99 that might have what you want to get started.

This sounds great... Thanks!

How can I homebrew the character? In Create Character I can't see the option.
Thanks!
In the Marketplace there is a Player's Handbook 5.5e https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/category/3709000?pid=DB3709000
