So I've seen videos where Dan Ayoub says he is doing an apology tour for D&D... Maybe I'm out of the loop or just misunderstanding but what exactly is he apologizing for?

Not trying to be suspiciously vague at all... I'll try to link the videos but he said it multiple times in GenCon interview/announcement videos... if anything he's being vague about what exactly he is apologizing for.

The fandom pulse post is too vague, so i see why you are confused. It doesn't say anything about anything.
Sure the company have done a lot of things wrong but then they have also been lambasted for things that aren't a problem, and are blown out of proportion.
And i have no idea which of these he is apologizing for.
They did a few pieces that had LGBTQ representation and cozy vibes and everyone is acting like it is suddenly a mandatory dating simulator and that we will no longer be able to melt people into puddles of bubbling gore with first level spells.
That was outrage mill BS with 10000ccs of Hyperbole.
Then there were the things that actually were stabs in the back but I don't want to into them because that will start an argument with some of the Sycophants that think the corp can do no wrong.

While I can find references to Day Ayoub and apology tour, as far as I can tell Dan Ayoub has never explained what he means by that beyond a general attempt to mend broken bridges.
So you saw this video yourself, but cannot/will not share a link to it? And instead you're sharing a second hand source?

It was the WotC GenCon Keynote video... What's sus is you steadily questioning when I've given you a direct quote vs. the video... not second hand.
Thanks, I'm trying to understand what exactly he is apologizing for because his apology is definitely being used by some as announcing a stance that WotC is now taking, and if so I'd like to be clear that is what he meant.
I'm pretty sure the lack of clarity is intended. It certainly does not indicate an official new stance by WotC; anything official would be announced in an official manner.
That's not a direct link to the video, that's a link to a facebook post. I pulled up the D&D Visions Keynote 2027 and cannot find him saying anything about apologizing in any of the segments where he was talking.

Fandom Pulse appears to be Jon Del Arroz's site, and that guy's a sad little "anti-woke" hack, so lol

So there's no video of him saying this and the only sources are a Fandom Pulse article and a Fandom Pulse Facebook post referencing the same Fandom Pulse article. Doesn't exactly fit the rigor I expect to take a claim seriously.
Feels more like one of those situations where even if something was said, it's being reported by someone trying to ascribe a meaning to it that fits their own agenda.
Ayoub posted an article on D&D Beyond outlining his vision for the game. While the article did not explicitly call out the prior leadership of D&D, it did explicitly address a number of pain points with how the game was perceived under previous management.
Points he discusses include better interfacing with the community, reducing financial barriers to entry, and ensuring the SRD remains strong as a living document. Those are all things that have caused issues in the past, and it is great to see him listing all these issues as immediate priorities for his tenure. Well worth giving the article a read if you want to hear directly from him about his thoughts.
