I was pretty disappointed by the end of Hoard of the Dragon Queen going into the Rise of Tiamat-- ends with a white dragon... starts with a white dragon. Seriously? To say nothing of how dumb it was to have the PCs spend the entire game uncovering a secret cult network that smuggles treasure thousands of miles northward... only to find out it all gets taken back nearly to where the adventure started. I had to rewrite sooooo much of that campaign when I started running it later. Lol, as it happens, Tiamat is literally about to show up in our game tonight! Should be fun! (Again, vastly rewritten. Rise of Tiamat is a ridiculously poor resource.)
Can't speak to the climax of Eve of Ruin, but the whole campaign has been comically bad so far. We're duking it out with Kas at the moment, but I shudder to think how clunky the end will considering how ill-conceived everything else has been. (They literally re-used part of Curse of Strahd for a chapter. There's a whole valley of Barovia and untold horrors therein... and they reused the worst map? Sigh.)

I think the general consensus was that Hoard of the Dragon Queen, Rime, and Strahd all were the worst.
Every module mentioned in this thread has a vote for being worst, and I expect others aren't mentioned because they're forgotten. For example, Waterdeep Dragon Heist is notable for the PCs never fighting the BBEG.

Also notable for never having a heist. I like it as a campaign but there’s some very strange choices made by the writers

And for "dragon" referring to coins rather than, say, dragons. I think it wins the award for "most deceptive adventure name".

You ARE cracking open a vault of ill-gotten gains to redistribute such to either Waterdeep or run away with it.
So it is a Waterdeep Heist.
& the "Dragon" aspect...in an adventure full of Perkins puns...is a pun. Perkins hid a TON of puns in this one.
Looting a lost treasure vault is not the normal understanding of "heist". And something being a pun does not make it not deceptive.
Remind me to pitch the following campaign to my players:All-Dragonborn & Kobold, all-Criminal, All-Draconic Sorcerer party armed with wands of Magic Missile show up to an(out of place) Adult dragon's nest, with the PCs eventually demanding the dragon parent(s) "Stick 'em up! This is a robbery, see? Hand over da eggs & no one gets hurt!" while doing an Edward G. Robinson impression, as a Quite Blatantly Literal Waterdeep Dragon Heist. That sounds like a stupidly fun idea for a campaign.

It's a fun concept, but you can also run it seriously. I mean, I've run a game where the PCs were supposed to steal dragon eggs, which would have been fine except for the part where the egg hatched.

Agree with most about Rime and Strahd.

So, let's reverse this. Which official campaign has the best ending? Or even has a good ending?
I think the general consensus was that Hoard of the Dragon Queen, Rime, and Strahd all were the worst.

Only the Waterdeep part is accurate.

That needs to be a real campaign.
