The tips are helpful, but they don't give you the full details. Right now I'm just trying to recreate certain official feats from scratch as test runs (like War Caster, or Tavern Brawler). I know how to add regular actions, but I never found out how to add in reactions and bonus actions
Is there an in-depth tutorial/guide for D&D Beyond's homebrew tool? Like specifically what each feature does, what each option in the modifiers drop-down does, etc.
(also, sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, please move this to the appropriate section if needed)
What we want to ultimately develop is a fully featured reference guide with tutorials, but the current homebrew interface is due for a revamp, so we've not gone and created that full reference guide yet, as it would become outdated and need to be recreated.
What we have are a number of tutorials and guides, mostly by myself and James Intracaso.
Hi one of the easiest ways to make a homebrew is to find a feat that does something a similar as possible and copy that then switch it from what you want. Add it to a character and reload the character to makr sure it works.
the sticky posts def help BUT there are sooo many instances that better toolkits explaining this in detail are def needed, specially for people that are highly creative trying to "figure out" out how to make things work is extremely time consuming.
Your post response is from 2017 and we are now in 2022. So far there has been close to 0 improvements into developing an in depth comprehensive tutorial to create all the things needed for deep ideas for homebrew. Tbh giving a comprehensive guide is waaaay past long overdue.

Hi there,
in short - sort of.
