I am very interested in buying the book, but I would like to have a better idea on it's contents. I understand the theme is supposed to be guilds, but what exactly is this book introducing to DnD? Does it have rules on how to join a guild, develop it, have competing guilds grow as yours grows over time etc.? Or is this book purely lore focused, aside from magic items, classes etc.?
It provides details on the 10 guilds that make up the setting, as well as player options for the setting, adventure ideas, magic items, and monsters/NPCs that all fit into the setting.
Here is the table of contents as previewed by WotC:
I recently picked this up here and my fiancee and I are really enjoying what we see so far. There are some new paths and the Guilds with the renown system look like a lot of fun.

The book is a setting for the Magic the Gathering plane of Ravnica: https://mtg.gamepedia.com/Ravnica

Ravnica is a setting in Magic: the gathering, and GGtR is a setting guide for running a campaign in it.
Honestly, if you are not interested in Magic the gathering, just buy the magic items and subclasses (and maybe centaur and minotaur races).
Thank you!
But we had factions (same as guilds in a way) and they just went away in AL and from what i understood will play a lesser role in future modules
I just want to tell everyone "happy gaming" and actually mean it. Whatever your game is, just have fun with it, it is after all, just a game.
