In SCAG, near the beginning, is an unlabeled map of the sword coast done in a style completely different than all the other maps.
I love the way this map looks, but it doesn't appear to align correctly-- I'm trying to label a northern section of the map for use (Neverwinter, Phandelin, Luskan, Waterdeep, etc) in a game I'm prepping. The problem is that the landmarks don't match up at all (rivers, etc) and I can't figure out where the hell anything is!
Like all maps, before we had satellite photographs to work from, they will be based upon observations and distance measurements made by the creator and will likely vary from other maps.
In short, if that is a map that you give to your players, it may not be 100% correct in detail.
That broken up area in the upper left is the Sea of Moving Ice, where Icewind Dale is. It's a Sword Coast map, just done in a different style and scale like Stormknight says. Perhaps it's the southerners who made it.
You won't find a perfect 1:1 correlation between the maps, you'll have to make best case guesses. Like Neverwinter would fit best along the coast, nestled into the forest just under the word "THE" in THE NORTH.

Yeah I see it now. I deleted my post so as to not mislead anyone with my error.

Deleted because it is misleading and wrong.
