Hey I'm joining a new campaign and am looking for tips on creating a sorcerer monk. I was wondering if anyone had some tips on a good build for the character. Thx
A sorcerer monk is not a great option unless you've rolled for ability scores and gotten unusually lucky. The reason for this is that the monk requires high Wisdom and Dexterity, while the sorcerer requires high Charisma. That's three ability scores you'd be wanting to get to 20 and is what is called a Multiple Ability Dependent (MAD) character.
What you could try is the four elements monk as that allows you to be a spell-flinging wushu fighter. It's generally considered not to be very good but I find these claims to be mostly overblown. Here's one of mine as an example: Qi Weng.

"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."
As a Human you could get +1 to all ability scores, then with point buy end up with a stat spread of 9 strength, constitution and intelligence, and 16 dex, wisdom, and charisma
You could then try and get a ring of protection for +2 AC while you aren't wearing armor, and that would bring your AC from 16 to 18.
Monk / Sorcerer is a weird combo though, and idk what you are trying to go for, so hard to give advice beyond that.

If you really want a caster multi class I would look at cleric or druid since they both use wisdom and so does monk.
